Shorten PAL Approval Times

Well, it sounds to me like neither you nor your references are going to be called for an interview, so this may very well be good news.

What does the following site say about the status of your application?

https://secure.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/eCFIS...C2bB8n4zT1FGyZpGpNlGv4tyz1lvpGmqRmd!944965091

I Don't think its good news , she said it very suspiciously

on the site it says this

Your application has completed initial processing. It is now in progress. Please check the status again at a later date.

Never heard of anyone getting their PAL having to do an interview. If your not getting your rPAL you should just have to wait.

Thanks, digital.

In your case, what was the length of time between license approval and receipt of the license in the mail? (You're in Alberta, so my experience will likely be very similar to yours.)

Thanks again.

My status change to issued came on April 25th. The postmark on the envelope was May 2nd so a week after it was 'approved' it was put in the mail. I got it on May 7th so 6 days to get from NB to my door. (the same amount of days it took my mailed app to get to NB from Calgary)

So it really does take about two weeks from issuance to receipt. (But tomorrow is Friday, so maybe mine will squeak out in the mail sooner.)

I've lived this long. I hope I'll be alive for at least another two weeks.:) I'm hoping to buy one of the next batch of CZ858s that are supposedly due in June, so I should have license in hand by that time.

So I just called CFC and there still scanning my picture in the system. LoL 28 days are done and interviews are done. Just waiting on that and on it's way to the CFO.

Forgot to add the girl on the phone at the CFC said the information is electronically sent to the CFO. So it appears its there instanatiously.

When the wife called to chase her PAL application, she asked if she would need to do an interview. She was told that generally not for PAL's but they do, do a random selection of applications for quality & training purpose.

Today's Update:

Challenged RPAL: April 10
Completed Forms: Received: April 13
My Interview: May 8
References Called in: May 9 and 10
Told with the application is with provincial CFO today, May 11

i dropped mine in the box the same day as you i called and was told it is taking 3-4 weeks for them to show up on line.... obviously not a very efficient office.

ok so i dropped my app in the mail april 16th. today i check the cfc site and it say's received april 23 2012 and also shows it has been processed and is now in progress. :) so i phoned and the lady says i have to wait about a week to call in for interviews.

In Ontario:

- Tests (for PAL and RPAL) challenged on 23 Feb.
- Got tired of waiting for results and submitted application on 23 Mar
- Received test results on 20 Apr (two month wait) and faxed them to CFC on 23 Apr
- Called CFC directly on 24 Apr and asked if they had everything, was referred directly to the desk officer with my file and did my interview. Then asked if I could have my references call in to speed process and was given an extension number to have them call.
- Both references called on 26 Apr and completed interviews
- File completed on 3 May and RPAL issued

Update

- RPAL received in the mail today - 11 May

What are the timelines like in BC?

Passed courses at Silvercore - May 6
Everything in mail to Mir - May 7
Application recieved - May 11

Havent seem much on here about BC...

May 11 + 28 days (minimum).
If RPAL, I'd call around 08June and ask if there's anything missing and, with a smile, "As long as I'm on the on the line, could I do my interview now?" If they're in a good mood, you might get lucky (No, not that "lucky". Get your mind out of the gutter. :D

If (No R) PAL, I'd call around 08June and ask if there's anything missing with a smile.

They might, on the other hand, have already called you before that (One can dream!)

Good luck.
