My interview is done as well as my 2 references. I called 2 days after the interviews to ask if there was any more info I could provide. They said it's now passed on the the BC CFO...
I'm just copying my post on the LTATT BC thread because I'm lazy
Kathy at the BC CFO office in Surrey is great! (no idea if that's how you spell her name)
- I mailed my RPAL application in early March
- CFP status said app received March 14, 2013
- After the 3 interviews the CFP, by phone, said it was on the BC CFO desk and I could not talk to him/her. (about May 8?)
- I waited a few weeks then drove to the BC CFO office last Friday afternoon with absolutely no expectations.
- Kathy talked to me behind the bullet proof glass window for a minute then came out into the waiting area where we could talk face to face. I had asked if I could pick up my RPAL so she was explaining the whole process to me. I know the process but I knew the cost of listening for a few minutes is far less than the potential gain of having her actually do something
- Kathy excused herself and came back in about 5 minutes to say she had been on the phone with CFP and my RPAL was approved! (I couldn't stop smiling)
- We talked a bit more and she said "You're probably gonna buy a pistol at a local store for your first purchase, right?" I said yes then said that I guess I'd have to get a LTATT to bring it home
- This allowed her to "teach" me about the difference between a STATT and a LTATT. In the process, she asked if I had proof of membership at a club. I said I did and had already emailed a scan of it to the CFP. She said she had seen that on file but it was hard to read. I went out to my car, brought it in and handed my PCDHFC membership (pink) form to her.
- Once more, with a smile, she excused herself for a few minutes and returned with my LTATT!
This is far too long but I just wanted to share a positive story because they are rare.
Summary: 78 days for new RPAL with 2 "Yes" responses
