Shorten PAL Approval Times

So RCMP just called me to do my interview after 102 days. I politely informed the woman that I already did my interview....she then looked at my file and said "Oh, why yes, yes you have!".

I told her that my first reference has also done his but not my second reference. A few seconds later my second reference received a phone call and did his interview.

What a comedy of errors this has been. On the bright side it seems I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I am moving in 2 weeks however....I will call them with my new address but let's see how they can screw that up. LOL/BOOHOO (<--me laughing and crying at the same time)

Hey whats up guys. I mailed my application on August 5th. I was pretty stupid and sent it in as regular mail rather then registered. I have been calling them every week and checking online. My application is not even in their computers yet. Sigh.

We have a similar timeline. I mailed in on August 2nd. I'm not in the system yet either. Wonder who will get their card first?

So a couple of hours after my last reference was checked my status now says ISSUED! That's 102 days from RECEIVED to ISSUED for anyone who's counting.

I called and gave them my new address and they will mail it to that address (hopefully).
I am having Canada Post redirect my mail for the next couple of months but apparently they wont redirect government mail. Does that make government mail LESS important or MORE important???

Still, it's nice seeing that status change...I'll stay positive for now. Hoping everything they could have pooched up has been sufficiently pooched.

So based on all these, I'm looking at Christmas or New Years before mine is issued, mailed it on Monday. Oh well, three or four months of research and learning, better get crackin'

Day 121 and still in progress. My weekly phone calls are now bi-weekly because in tired of hearing them say "try back in a few weeks"

I'm quite giddy right now may go shopping later this afternoon.

Well the good thing is that Renewals are not taking that long - Sent my renewal in on Aug 5th and Sept 11th it was sitting in my mailbox. It is not due until November but when I saw how long it was taking for a new one to arrive for you guys I didn't want to chance it. Today the LTATT renewal application is in the mail - start the clock.

Today has been exactly 1 month since they have received my application. Even though I did not sent it as registered mail, Canada post told me that my application should arrive there on the 9th of Aug. This is so frustrating. Every time I check online or call them they application isn't even in their system.

Mine was received July 15th and didn't show up online until Sept. 3 (over a month). It was issued about a week later and I'm waiting for it in the mail.

Since May, most people are waiting 5-6 weeks to have it show up online. From there time varies from 1 week to eternity and everything inbetween

Mine too. 1 post, probably because all my posts are in this thread. Watch to see if Visa gets charged/ cheque cashed. It usually shows up at the same time.

September 12th 2013 - Application received via ExpressPost in Miramichi. Took 2 extra days because I'm from Québec and it went from the local police station to Montreal via the their internal postal services, registered in Montreal and went back to Miramichi, New Brunswick. I called in to confirm reception of my paperwork and ask questions about registering on their website in order to check on my status without calling every now and then, which I'll do anyway. I was then inform that it would take 2 weeks and/or more to just show up on the internet. Also, when they talk about the 28 days period, I'm pretty sure I'll answer my own question here but... Is this business days or calendar days ?

So I'll will carefuly follow this ''how to'' and call them in as soon as the credit card is charged and ask questions and have my reference call in when I get my file number.

I'll keep you guys posted on my ''performance'' at speeding up my application, hopefully I get to own and shoot my prepaid firearms before the end of the year.

P.S.: I am an applicant from the province of Quebec and we have the ''drop in'' policy, which means we have to go to our local police station so they can look at an ID card of us and check our criminal record (or lack of it in my case), they put their nameand service number on the form and send it in themselves. So my undertstanding of it, we get double criminal checked in Quebec.
