Shorten PAL Approval Times

To the guys in day 40+, how often are you calling them? I felt like every time I called something got done within a couple days. Someone before said the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Squeak a little and maybe something will happen. My status online is the same today as it was 5 days after they got my app. It never changes to say anything like "have your reference call us". They never even wanted to speak with me or my fiance. Just my 1 reference. Call em up.

Mine was processed in 45 days (including weekends) after showing up online. I only called once , which I got a recorded message they were closed for the day.... other than that I didn't call at all. RPAL from Ontario.

I guess if they are counting from the moment it shows up online mine was also within the 45 day period. Maybe that is what they mean by the 45 day period not from the date that it was officially received. If so they need to be more clear.

On the application itself, it actually says

We require a minimum of forty-five (45) days to process your application.

But im with you - im thinking around 45 days from appearing online..
That was what I meant by being more clear. It should say something along the line of

We require a minimum of forty-five (45) days to process your application from the moment the Application number is first created.

Doesn't it say including the mandatory 28 day waiting period, which starts the day the receive your app in the mail, not the day they open it. Still waiting, day 74.

Nope it literally says:
An accurately completed firearms licence application normally takes about 45 days to process. Incomplete and inaccurate information can add additional processing time.

Guess it depends where you look.

45 days, including the 28-day legislated waiting period, for a licence application;
30 days for a registration application.

I sent mine by Xpresspost and it was received by by them on January 30, 2015. As of today it showed up online. I am just upgrading my PAL to RPAL. Wish me luck.

1st time PAL(just Pal) anyone knows how long application will be sitting at BC CFO? they scan and send it to them 2 weeks ago but still nothing.:(
Thanks

If they're as slow or as backed up as the Alberta CFO, then you have a ways to go. Mine has been with the AB CFO for 6 weeks today.

My updated timeline:
Exam - Nov 9
Results - Dec 5, app mailed same day
Received in miramichi - Dec 8
Online - Jan 9
Refs called Feb 5
License approved and issued Feb 11
in mail Feb 20th

Total 78 days from filling papers till receiving license card.

Lol......now I know they are fekked up. They just called me and said that I never filled out the check box that asks if you have had another spouse within the last 2 years. I laughed cause I know I checked the box because the wife did the ol "you better not have" when I was doing the app. We have been married 6 years this year.

So yeah...no idea anymore about them. Maybe by doing that they think I will figure I fekked up and it will be ok to take longer....I don't know.

Should have photocopied/scanned them
