Shorten PAL Approval Times

Took course rPAL mid december.
Results back mid january.
Sent in a week after.
The website still wont load up anything with the information I put in.

I guess I should call them monday to see what is going on. Is it possible they want you to get bored and forget you ever sent your application in?

:D

Application was received October 2nd
It's completed initial processing but has been in progress for months. Called in and they said its at the CFO in Alberta.

Going to call in Monday and see what's taking so long.
Getting a little ridiculous

No kidding. So much for being a federal program. I really don't understand the whole cfo thing.

Does anybody know what the CFO does with the application? Or does it just go to him for a signature?

From what they told me, your app can be approved right away R sent to the cfo for final approval. Mine was sent to the cfo and was there for three days. I'm assuming mine needed final approval because it was an RPAL and because I answered yes to one of the 5 questions

Did you? No reason for anyone to really think they should need to do that especially with tracked mail and knowing you filled it out correctly.....lol.

I filled mine out on the computer, printed it, and sent it in. So I still have a copy of everything except the signatures digitally. I didn't want to take a chance on them using my handwriting against me.

Why does it need to go to the CFO twice? The CFO gets your tests results and knows who you are at that point. Then they stamp it and send it back. You send it to the RCMP. They do all the background checks and once you are ok'd it goes back to where it already was? Why? In case the RCMP messed up?

I'm guessing because the cfo can see the results of the interviews, background, etc. At the time they stamp your results they have none of that not even the application. This is all speculation of course. I think you'll drive yourself mad trying to understand the logic behind this whole process and the rules to follow after your approved. Better off to just play the game, I called almost daily after the 50 day mark. Some say it makes no diffrence but I found it did.

Mine had expired so I had to go through the whole process again.
Mailed it in the first week of November and just got it yesterday.

This Alberta (and other CFO) thing is very confusing. I see others getting first time RPALs approved minutes or 2 to 3 days after their reference call in. Other wait months with their application sitting at the CFO. My application (very clean , already a POL holder for years) is sitting with the Alberta CFO since last week. Why some people get within minutes after reference calls in others like me with clean application have to wait ........ Anyone know what is the current Alberta CFO time for clean application is ?

Mine has been sitting at the Alberta CFO for 3 months now, and it's just a pal, not rpal.
Haven't called yet to see what's taking so long but will be calling Monday.

hi guys,
I just noticed I have some errors on my pal application. Papers are at SK CFO waiting final approval but I don't know what to do. Also, will the "final approval pending" thing add another 3-4 months to the entire process?

Actually I did but I figured they would lose them so it would save me time :)

What's funny is I apparently forgot to check that box as well. Some guy from Miramichi called me and asked about it then filled in the box for me and said that was all they needed and that they'd be scanning my photo and sending everything to the provincial CFO after that. My application was received Dec 11th or something, online early January and issued last week. Now I'm just waiting for my card.
