Shorten PAL Approval Times

So far this is what I am looking at for a timeline of my application:
CFSC test passed: Jan 24 2015
PAL application mailed in to Miramichi (registered mail) with test results: Jan 26
Arrived at Miramichi: Feb 2
Application online and in progress: Feb 23
Mine showed up 21 days after they received it, but when it did show up online, it showed as "your application has completed initial processing and is now in progress" instead of the processing stage. I have called in a few times to see if i should get my references to call in but I was told by a very nice lady that I should have them do that in 2-3 weeks. I plan on calling back again sometime this week to see if there are any changes.

We're on the exact same timeline, with the same status. It will be interesting to see if there's a difference with the processing times between the Ontario and Manitoba CFOs.

You should probably call in and ask what they have as your place of birth. I spelled toronto in lowercase and when checking the application, only lowercase t works

Could be. I got in now. Thought I'd tried all lowercase, but maybe not. Can't believe it's case sensitive.
 
My application was received on December 9th, 2014, Credit Card was charged late January I think, can't remember the exact date, I've called twice this week, and have not gotten through! :-( today it was an automated message just saying please call back at a later date, higher then average calls.
 
Day 42 for me. I called in today and was told my references could call in. Both of them called in this afternoon. Any idea how long I'm looking at now? Are reference checks the final step of the process?
 
My application was received January 23, four days after Andrew. Today on the phone they told me that they are not ready yet for my references to call in. I asked when I should call back and they told me, "who knows". I suggested that I'd call again once a week and they said it's fine, you do that.
 
It's funny, I'm finally online and yet checking everyday. It's only Day 39, I don't know what I'm expecting.

Do you guys call at this point? Or is it too early?
 
Day 44 Reference Allowed To Call

January 19 2015 Received
Today Day 44 called in and was told to have reference to call in
Waiting patiently to see the status change.

Yes, I would call, now. I'm tracking different people's progress and it seems like the timing to get your references to call in and approvals is between 42 and 49 days if you're from Eastern Canada. For some reason if you're from out West, it seems to take 60+ days. God help you if you're from Alberta
