Shorten PAL Approval Times

Hey guys, I am in a bit of a pickle.
I took the RPAL course this past august, did all the paperwork and had everything ready to go but do to a work injury and a new baby the funds were somewhat lacking so I didn't send in my application.
Now the time comes and I'm ready to go but I can't find the paperwork anywhere. I think my wife may have accidentally thrown it out.
Is there anyway I can still send in my application without the supporting paperwork proving I passed the course???
When I look at the application paperwork on-line it says "If you have your Canadian Firearms Safety Course Report, provide a photocopy of this document with your application." Does this mean it can be done without the supporting paperwork?
I'm guessing if that is possible it would take much longer.
I'm also going to try and get into contact with the course instructor but I thought I'd ask all of you fine folks first.
Thanks a lot.

contact the place you did the course and get them to send you copies, you need to send them in or its treated as incomplete, at least thats what i was told, , best bet though, contact the CFP 1-800-731-4000 and ask them .

Got my PAL and RPAL in the mail today :)

I live in Alberta.
Application was rec'd on Fri, Nov 27.
I called about a week after it was received, and then shortly before Dec 23 to politely inquire as to its progress.
Application was started on Dec 23.
I called Jan 4 to get my application number so that my references could call in.
References called in on Jan 5 and application was approved the same day.
Jan 12 and it is in my hands.

Total time: 44 days (Less than 30 business days)

Call CFP, speak with them. When I called, I was told mine were still on file from a couple years prior and I would not need to send them in. They said mark VERY CLEARLY "ON FILE" in those fields.

Faxed them off on a monday and by wednesday the status changed on the website from missing info to processing

It sat at the cfo since dec 29

Thanks, for the reply.

It turns out it took 48 hrs for my faxed CFSC too. I called again to double check that they have everything and to my surprise they said they wanted a reference interview for my PAL. I got one of my references to call within the hour and I think I'm all done on my side at this point.

I'm not sure how long it will take now, but the one thing I've learned about this process is that you must be super proactive and keep calling back to inquire about what else they need in order to move things alone. That said, they are perfectly nice and generally helpful on the phone, short wait times too.

Send in your application, get another copy of your results then send those in. Try reading the first post.

Weird, I am also from Alberta. My pal/rpal application was received nov 23rd, had my references call in on dec 23rd, and they said it was sent to the cfo. I called in last week to offer to do an interview myself and they said I will just have to wait and see if the cfo calls me.

Saskatchewan
Aug 24 - received in NB
Aug 28 - CC charged
"is now in progress" msg ever since
Going to give them till end of Jan, then get local MP's involved, maybe Ralph Goodale's office too since his office is about a mile from here.

this is how I imagine the sask cfo's office .... nah thats giving them too much credit, there's only a couple monkeys working there.

Anyone have any information on how to shorten the waiting time if you have had a weapon prohibition, this was 8 years ago it had expired.
I have been polite for about 11 months now with no progress for the past 7 or so months.

Ontari-owe

Challenged the exam for PAL in Sept 2012 and never bothered to file the paper work.

Nov. 25th 2015 -Finally sent it in via snail mail, with stale dated forms as I had filled them out back in 2012.
Dec. 1st -They were received but when I checked the website it had no information regarding me or my application.
Dec. 29th -Finally showed up as received and under initial processing
Jan. 13th 2016 - Called in to ensure the application was complete, had a ref there to talk to the nice lady as well (said she would send to approval)
Jan. 18th -Now showing as approved and sent out...

Here's to hoping our awesome mail system does not loose it before it gets to me :D

Also random question but I intend on leaving for a week or so and am curious, does it come standard mail, or will it require a signature?

Find it a bit odd they've had my application for about a month and haven't charged my card yet. Seems with most people they charge the card almost immediately.

PAL BC

Passed PAL & RPAL courses Nov 13,14,15. (took the RPAL course for future use)

Called CFO directly (ext. 9530 btw) spoke with rep and was approved over the phone January 7. (42 days)

Total time from course to gun in hand - 61 days! Total time for approval once received by RCMP - 50 days! Pretty great if you ask me.
I would like to thank all the hard working individuals both in Miramichi & all the CFO offices for all their hard work.

I mailed in my rpal in jan they received it on jan 11 according to registered mail. today I looked at my photocopies and noticed I forgot the credit card info. Does anyone know if I could just call them and give it to them over the phone? the app has not shown up on there site as being processed yet. Do they take the payment when the app is opened for review before its put on there system?
