Shorten PAL Approval Times

So from the point of them receiving your application how long does it take for it to show up online? 18 working days? At what point would you call and ask wtf is going on if it still is not online by 20 days or so?
It won't show up until pretty much the waiting period is done

I sent mine Feb 1, called last Wednesday to see how things were going and she said to wait until at least the 4 week mark (today) because that's usually how long it takes to get to it. It showed up online today as being received on Feb 5.
Gonna call in today and hopefully get things rolling.
Mine is an upgrade to RPAL.

My PAL application arrived Feb 11, as of today Mar 1 it has appeared online,
"Your application has completed initial processing. It is now in progress. Please check the status again at a later date.

Note:

An accurately completed firearms licence application normally takes about 45 days to process. Incomplete and inaccurate information can add additional processing time."

I just called in, I waited 10 minutes to get thru, I was told at this time my references do not need to call in, there is nothing I need to do and I should wait a few weeks.

WooHoo the system works even in Onterio!

Recieved Nov10 Online as of today March 1 (I checked the last 3 days not including the weekend so this is accurate). Fingers crossed but this was the first hurdle and still 8 days mandatory wait so this is a good sign.

P.s.
This is for my Pal/Rpal
Did not call in
Did not register mail it
Waited for exams to come back (didn't know at the time you could send in separate)
Did not have refrances call
Will wait till 28 days are up before calling (testing how the system works on its own)
Recently moved and submitted in Ontario
Will update if I can pry my number out before card is mailed.

Was your credit card charged as well? and is this for just PAL?

As of today credit card has not been charged. There are a couple of charges from yesterday that havent shown up yet. I bought a gun safe on Saturday and it just showed up on my statement today. They are a little behind with this stuff. if it doesn't show up by Friday, I'll call them to make sure there wasnt an issue.

I will never understand how this system works, I am upgrading from Pal to Rpal, my wife is applying for her Rpal, she has never had a firearms licence. Both our applications were received in NS on January 28th, both showed up online on February 19th, we both had our reference call on February 23rd, check today and her Rpal is in the mail already, that is 33 days for an Rpal to be issued for a first timer with a 28 day waiting period! I am happy for her, but pretty sure that mine will probably be a complete pain in the ass because she is so damn lucky :)

well after calling the BC CFO last week and being told i was approved and then waiting for the status to change on the website, i finally called CFP today and they told me they hadn't heard from the BC CFO yet! they transfered me directly and after talking to someone different at the BC CFO they said somehow my approval got lost between the CFO and the CFP!
So now it has been approved and status changed within 10 min on the website.
Also told them i had made a deposit on a pistol and asked when we could start the transfer, I was told as i am approved i could start the transfer immediately and just had to send in proof of range membership before it could be completed, which i did though a pic and email from my Iphone.
I just might get that S&W 645 sometime this year after all!!

The timeline for mine has been:

received Feb 2
online and in progress sometime before Feb 20 [18 days]
CC charged Feb 23 [21 days]
called Feb 26 [24 days]
reference called Feb 26 [24 days]

Updating this timeline, I've been continuing to check online and tonight [29 days] I see: "Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued."

:d

PAL and RPAL, first time application. From my understanding I can now call the BC CFO and they can tell me my number before my card arrives in the mail?

JUST got my license today, finally. 1 year and 7 months later. I called once a week to check my status. Not sure if it took so long because I got my restricted as well? Either way tax returns and gun license arriving in the same week has to be a sign....
