Shorten PAL Approval Times

I have been very happy with the pacing of my application so far;

-Received on March.3rd
-Online by March.18th
-Called in for missing information March.18th
was told everything is all good and have one reference call in
-Reference called in same day

Only been 15 days and everything seems spiffy. I would not be surprised if I had my license issued on the 28th day haha.

Edit: March.18th/2016

-Went from processing to "In Progress" March.18th

UPDATE>>> I just now checked online about my PAL. Last time showed processing. Just now saw this.

Application Received on: 2016/02/12

Current Status: Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued. If you have not received your licence within 2 weeks please contact the Canadian Firearms Program Toll Free number. (1-800 731-4000). Fingers crossed there are no mess ups in between. :d:cheers:

UPDATE AGAIN!!
Just received my PAL today in the mail. 39 days from the day it was sent snail mail until I opened it today:d:cheers:

"Current Status: Your application has completed initial processing. It is now in progress. Please check the status again at a later date."

I just got this message today. Is there anything I should do to speed up the process at this point?

Just keep checking, if you get no change in status or charge in a few days. Just give them a guick call and ask if you can help aid them on the process. Also check your email as well. I called in not knowing they have emailed me haha.

You don't have to wait for a credit card to be charged. Call ASAP and ask for a reference number and have your references call in. Ask if they need anything from you as well

You don't have to, but when I called before it was charged they couldn't find any record of me for some reason, once I was charged I called again and they were ready for me.

I sent in my application without my stamped results(ontario) and now my application is online and is processing. For those of you from ontario, how long did it take for your stamped CFSC results to come back to you?

3 weeks, my instructor sent them in next day. He also said durning hunting seasons it can take 4-6 weeks.

Give it about 21 days. Takes about that long before you see it on line. Till then its communication black out time I'm afraid.

Thanks. I came to the same conclusion (21 days to appear online) after reading this thread from start to finish, as I was waiting for my test results to come back.

I have just shifted my obsession to: figuring out typical price per round of the cartridges that I plan to use, and repeatedly measuring the space where I am going to hide my safe. lol

Hi all- long time reader, first time member. Just finished/ passed the PAL & RPAL this weekend... About to send in the paperwork, but was wondering if anyone had any ideas what kind of interview questions they ask your spouse? I tried looking through all 997 pages on this thread and couldn't find any. Reason I'm asking is because my wife is from South America and her English isn't the best... She worried she might say the wrong thing!

I just read this thread, followed the instructions and checked on my application....And it said it is Approved and my license has been issued! This was for my RPAL/PAL.

I never received a call from the RCMP, they only called 1 of my references. But no interview for me is weird - I'm not complaining though! :)

They received my pal/rpal on feb. 18 from Sask. and i received final authorization on march 18, that was with them, needing me to send in 2 different verification proofs, i was never contacted and they only needed one reference to call in. Dealing with the CFO for transfer of ownership of a firearm has been very efficient, and all levels of contacts from start to finish have been very helpful and patient to say the least. So over all i would grade the system an a+. This thread was also very helpful in guiding a noob through the process. Thanks.
