Hi all- long time reader, first time member. Just finished/ passed the PAL & RPAL this weekend... About to send in the paperwork, but was wondering if anyone had any ideas what kind of interview questions they ask your spouse? I tried looking through all 997 pages on this thread and couldn't find any. Reason I'm asking is because my wife is from South America and her English isn't the best... She worried she might say the wrong thing!
holy #### you got your licence issued fast. Mine is on day 36 and still nothing. Had reference call in and when my second refrence went to call in they told her they only needed one reference and that my application was now with the CFO for review. Bear in mind I did check off one of the boxes in the personal section regarding peace bond. dammit lol.
The system works!!!
45 days exactly, this included not having my refrences sign and having them send back my appication and resending it too them. Was able to call (on hold maybe 10min) was provided my number and expiry over the phone. Super friendly and even said congratulations it was approved today.
I did not call in, my refrences did not call in, This was for Ontario and for my PaL and RPAL.
I used my wife & a friend. PAL & RPAL. When I saw it online ( day 21 ), I called & received my application number. Had my friend phone in same day. Asked him if I was stable and had any anger issues. Did not ask for wife phone in & did not interview me. On day 28 my license was issued ( March 16 ). This is day 6 since issue. Not received it yet.
good time to visit gun shops, on-line stores, talk to people, gun clubs and shooting ranges in order, supplies you might need. You can buy whatever you want, just cant take it home.
Did you check off any of the personal boxes? Criminal history or mental health?
What do you me a you can buy whatever you want just not take it home
hey guys,
So my application is being sent from Miramichi to the CFO, if I undrstood correctly. The lady said on the phone that theres a 28 day waiting period from when it gets to the CFO? My application has been online for a week now, and I sent my application initially without the course report to get the 28 day waiting period(Which I thought was from when they get my application). I called after faxing the course report and she said once they get it, theyre sending my application to the province and then I have to wait a minimum of another 28 days? Was she mistaken? I am ontario and applying for a PAL for the first time.
It's a 28 day minimum from the time its first touched, you should be able to see a file number of its online or call and recieve one. The 28 days is a mandatory wait, it does not mean anything more than that. Depending on the application it can be approved in 28 days, some have taken a year or more. 45 days is what they are shooting for if its a perfect application and no history check marks.
Mine was exactly 45 days till approved and it's two weeks from there to recieve the physical card. Onterio first time Pal and RPal.
