Your MP will tell you to wait for 45 days (your "next Thursday" is only day 38.), and even them getting involved will likely result in the CFC quoting their time frame telling you to wait, quoting the fact you delayed it.
Being a firearms owner in Canada, get use to being patient with the government. Just wait till you get an ATT and registrations to wait for.
Ok, so my 45 days would be August 25, and I will add 15 more days to the wait time because that's how long my 1st reference waited before calling (Note to self: don't blindly trust family member for being trustworthy ever again). That would be September 8. I will go see my MP on September the 8th then.
I also read another method to get my application rolling.
Go to your local Provincial Court House and ask the clerk of the court for the form that causes a judicial review of the CFO's decision (or lack of action). Tick off "Failure to issue a licence" and file the papers. It's free. The CFO will be notified of the court action and the will spin into high gear or spend 1000s on lawyers. It will never get to court. As soon as they produce the desired results, withdraw your application to the Courts. The firearms act allows for review at anytime if an individual believes they are wronged by the system.
When I checked, it isn't free. It apparently cost $200 now.
