Shorten PAL Approval Times

Exactly 28 days after receiving my application my license has been issued.
Dec 2nd-4th Took the CFSC/CRFSC courses
January 3 received my results in the mail and sent application with results XPressPost
January 9th application received by RCMP
About a week later it showed up on line and I had both references call in.
Feb 6th License has been issued.
Now just need to wait for it to arrive in the mail. If they still only print licenses on Fridays I will likely be waiting at least 2 weeks to get it.
This process has actually been pretty good. It will be about 2.5 months from the time I took the course until I actually receive my PAL/RPAL.
My days of just window shopping on EE are coming to an end!!

Same here, exactly 28 days. Jan 9th and Feb 6th. I called in to get my PAL number.

I think mine took about 2 months, from the time I sent in the paperwork to getting my licence. It took my longer to send in my paperwork than to get my license.

Called this morning and now have my PAL number. Rifle ordered from Wanstalls!!

My timeline:

December 3 and 4, 2016 - CFSC/CRFSC completed
December 29, 2016 - test results received
December 30, 2016 - application mailed to CFC (via express post)
January 3, 2017 - application received by CFC
January 13, 2017 - application shows up in website as "in progress"
February 3, 2017 - called CFC and was advised to have one reference call in for an interview, reference called in, application approved
February 8, 2017 - called CFC and was given PAL number over the phone; she also said my card has been mailed out

So two months and 5 days (I could have made it shorter if I had called in for my PAL number earlier)

Thanks Bro!

60 days since my PAL application was received, 3 weeks since references checked, 1 week since I phoned and was told my application was with the CFO waiting for approval and still not issued. Worth calling again?

I think the Ice Storm in the Miramichi area a couple of weeks ago likely threw a wrench into the not-so-well-oiled machine that is the CFC. Still waiting for my application to appear on-line after 2 weeks (seems the average time lately is about 10-12 days).

The office was closed for 2 days, was probably understaffed for several more days as people (understandably) dealt with their own issues or just couldn't get to work, God knows how long the mail wasn't delivered and is probably all piled up down there now.

Patience is a virtue, I'm told....

i sent my app in dec 1st,the got it 3 days after, took two weeks for it show up online and i called two days later because it said information was missing.id put that to be around dec 21st.still waiting for something to happen.when i called last week the woman i talked to said its a 45 day minimum for anything to happen....it looks to me like this is just ontario from everything i've read on here.and its not even for my damned restricted license.i can hardly wait to see how long that takes

Have you received your card?
