RPAL & PAL (First time):
Sent application with course paperwork on the 1st of May.
Application received on the 8th of May. (Didn't know until it showed up online).
Showed up online as "completed initial processing and is now in progress." and money deducted from CC on the 9th of June.
Called in to see if my application is ready for references to call in for their interviews on the same day and was told it was ready. I had reference #1 call in for the interview and everything seems to be in order so far and was told that the second reference was not required to be interviewed. I understand the application gets sent to the CFO's office in BC afterwards for final approval.
Anyone know what the estimated wait time is until the CFO in BC approves? Does it help if I phone their office someday next week? I've read many threads online with ALOT different experiences, good and bad lol.
Update: Called in on the 12th of June and was told my application just finished scanning and getting sent over to BC CFO today.

April 24 2017: Application arrives
May 24 2017: Shows up online
May 25 2017: I call them. They said it was just processed, nothing has been scanned in.
May 29th 2017 week of: I call them. They say it's with the BC CFO.
May 29th 2017, week of: I call BC CFO. He says they have it, it's pending final approval. Says to call again 4-5 weeks.
June 9 (1 week later): It's been 4 weeks (lol), I call again. Super nice lady (some say she's the hero BC needs, but doesn't deserve) approves it over the phone.
June 10: Canada post works tirelessly day and night to deliver my PAL to me only a day after approval. I receive my gun license and buy a WW2 era Tiger II tank. Justin Trudeau takes a selfie with me, and not only unbans 10/22 mags, but makes it mandatory for all Canadians to own a 10/22.

June 9 - Called in requesting an update - spoke with a nice lady who put me on hold and came back after a bit saying it's with AB CFO for final approval.
June 12 - Checked online - "Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued"... if not received by mail in 2 weeks call back...
Note: had checked yes for job loss in the past 2 years - included a note saying that it was amicable and I'm happily looking for new employment. No criminal record and had FAC years ago.

Update: Phoned to check status because website said that they required additional info. I was told that the photo was not up to standards, because they couldn't see my eyes. Probably because I wear glasses.. Now I need to wait for the letter stating this. Get another photo taken. Get the guarantor to sign again. Send it in expedited mail. . Hopefully it has been approved and all that is needed is the new photo. Probably another month. Wish me luck.

They received my app on May 11th. I was told under current workload they wont get to it until the 5 or 6 week mark and the web site wont be updated until they are actually working on it.

I wouldn't wait for the letter.
Call back and ask for the application reference number. Also ask if you can submit the photo by email. IF they say no, then re-take the photo and mail it out along with your application reference number and a short note explaining what you are sending them.
The letter could take weeks to arrive.

Talked to RCMP and was told that the photo and the photo guarantor signature had to be the originals, no copies My problem is that the person that signed the back of the photo lives 100 miles from me. Therefore my options are
1) drive up there and get him to resign. Has to be an original signature attached to an original photo
2) wait for the letter to arrive and get someone else to sign Apparently there is a place on the letter to change the photo guarantor
In essence this means all signatures and photos have to be the originals No email, no faxes only letter mail accepted. I hope that this helps someone else in a similar situation. All this because I was too cheap to spend the $15 for a professionally taken photo at Shoppers Drug

Definitely call them. They received mine April 18th and I called them May 17th because it wasn't on the website yet and they told me that if it wasn't online they hadn't received it but it's probably somewhere in the building. Two days later it was approved and mailed. They didnt seem to care until I called about it. God knows how long it would've been if I didn't!

Just PAL or both PAL/RPAL?

June 19th: Called the toll number and was told my application is still with BC's CFO and if they need anything "they'll" call me. Also told to call back in a few weeks as usual. Apparently they also keep record of how many times you call and ask about the application status as the woman who answered with a slight attitude made it clear that I was pestering them somehow by asking about my business. This wait game is starting to eat at me lol.
