Shorten PAL Approval Times

Tangri.., I just wanted to let you know it does not take that long as you intended to say 8 months,my licence took 28 days to be issued. I guess for some reason around januaryish time they seem to get processed really quick.

That is true, New Brunswick is the winner in terms of fast service.

I hope so, 7 more days until my 28 day minimum is up. I kind of want to start ordering crap like hearing protection, cases, safe, etc so I have it by the time I actually get my first restricted but I'm a pessimist and don't want to drop $1k+ in misc crap until I have that card in my hand.

wow, the BC CFO has really impressed me

within 2 hours of buying my gun and the place starting the transfer they called me telling me that i need to send them proof of membership(i tried asking for the law and all that crap, she wouldn't give up lol) and as soon as i do that both will be approved.

mind you i didn't send in an application and she did one over the phone.

RPAL in 28 days

I challenged my non restricted and restricted exams on Feb. 19. Mailed the application on Feb. 21, regular mail from southern Alberta. Checked the status everyday on the website and on Mar. 8 it said it was received on Feb.25 and had passed initial processing and was in progress. Called on Mar. 17 to check the status and see if everything was ok. i was interviewed right then, only took about 5 min. i then called back today Mar.24 to check on the status. they told me everything is ready, just waiting for the 28 days to pass, that's tommorrow! Wow I can't believe it and I am pumped! I never had my references call in and still done in 28 days! Can't wait to go shopping.

Tallguy I as just talking to them i sent mine on the 14th from calgary and she said that they are a bit behind but the mail is stamped from when it arrived so even if your not entered till 15 days after it is back dated so i hope that is true, I am patiently (I use the term loosely) waiting to appear on the site.

If my app follows yours next weds should be the day :p

Hope y'all are right (calalta + atinderpal). Sent out the app on monday, tracking online shows they got it today....so being a noob i called in lol....they gave me the whole dont call back for 3-4 weeks as its in the mail room and wont be in till then....

So now I'm officially in that ####ty waiting game, btw been doing some research-saving money, and touch wood all goes well.....really liking that S&W m&p 9mm. I'll post if there are any significant updates that are confusing. Been a great help, thanks to all the members involved.

I followed the suggestions as listed on this web site.

They received my application on Feb 24, 2011.

I was approved on March 23, 2011.

I called the CFO and he gave me my number so I can put a deposit down on a sale item.

I should see my PAL in the mail within two weeks.

All that answered the phone at the other end were very pleasant and helpful.

:)

Congrats Hodaka,

Application Received on: 2011/03/10

Current Status: Your application has completed initial processing. It is now in progress. Please check the status again at a later date.

im guessing the CFO doens't like me :(

they wouldn't give me my PAL # over the phone...
even tho they gave tiggrot his literally hours before i called...

My license has just been issued, and I want to know my PAL number ASAP. But when I called CFC to ask for my PAL number, they claimed that "This information cannot be released over the phone". And when I called the Ontario CFO, all I get is the fax machine screeching. Is there anything else that I can do except to wait for the snail mail?

I called in to the CFC today and I just completed my interview over the phone
I just notified both my references and hopefully they will complete their interviews today and all will be in order.
So much has progressed in the last few days,
1) Application has been updated online as being received two days ago
2) I did my interview today and now hopefully both of my references will do their interviews today
3) My application will hopefully be sent to my provincial CFO to be approved soon.
So far things are looking good,
March 5th sent application for RPAL by express post,
CFC received application March 10th and now
March 25th, finishing up interviews!!!
:D

oh cool..in that case i guess i did get really lucky lol, thank you god:D
by the rcmp site my status read "your licence has been issued" in 3 weeks, but i had to wait out on the 28 days for them to actually mail it...so all together about 35-36 days for it to be in my hands...they print licences on thursday for ontario
