They gave me the number, no expiry date.
My application was received 12/22, after I knew I passed but before I got my test results. Once I got my results (early Jan) I faxed in my papers and waited a week. I called back to confirm they got everything. I called in Thursday of last week and they told me to have my reference call in which he did that day. I called back yesterday and they told me that everything is good on their end, they are sending their approval to the CFO in Ontario for the final approval. I expect that the site will show approval next week. AWESOME! Now, how do I convince the wife to start shooting with me and for her to want a gun? She says she's "ok" with it but would prefer not to have a gun in the house. I want to show her that they're safe when handled correctly. I'm pretty excited!
I got approved today and called in and asked for my PAL number saying I wanted to use it to start a transfer on a restricted and they said no prob and gave it to me with my expiry...
Also, I ordered my AR today and the guy took my number to see if it was in his system and confirmed I was good to go...Then I ordered an SKS from another company with no issues, now I'm shopping for a pistol, I'm in heaven
Mine was received 12/18 and I was approved today, I was a pain in the ass though. The last week or so I called almost daily and Monday I called referencing the standards page and asked to formally know why I was so far past the service standard, two days later my license issued...Actually the CFO called me
Sad thingis it made no difference

Getting a PAL is an exercise in extreme patience. Getting your range / club membership is another hurdle which will require more patience.
What did the CFO say?
Just to tell me they approved me andy card was being printed and sent today
Maybe we should create a new thread on how long it takes between being issued and actually arriving in your mail box
Seriously though I wonder if there is a backlog on the cards actually getting to the recipient. We should add that into our stats.
I think it certainly makes a difference after 45 days to ask why we are so far over service standard and reason why. Im at 45 days today, and i doubt ill see any action this week, but mid week next week ill be asking the same thing in the nicest way possible of course. I already hinted to her at 42 days that i knew we would be missing services standards... - lets all remember that word too "service"
