Shorten PAL Approval Times

Application came online today, says it was recieved October 22th, which means it took 5 dusiness days from mailing it to receiving time (non registered mail).

Now I just wait for the peice of mail saying I forgot to attach my test results and fax that, with the results back at them. This whole thing could be approved by th 19th =)

Hey once it is approved, do you get your PAL number, or do you need to wait for the actual card before you can make online orders? I've got stuff on lawaway....

I was wondering that myself. My PAL has apparently been mailed and I'm ready to buy some stuff.....

45 pages is why.....

Feels like you don't want the answer to your question so badly then... You'd rather try to waste somebody else's time than yours. I see.. I know that when I started, I've read everything that there is not only in this thread, but the whole CGN, then posted and asked what I couldn't find.. Anyways.

I just ignore those queries now, there have been many which were answered in the first post.
FYI for those who want answers without waiting, experiment with the Search function, it works very well.
You can search an individual thread or an individual forum. If you search a thread it will search the entire thread, not just the page you are on.
Use the + sign if you want to limit the search to include two or more keywords. You can also limit how far back you want to search.
You can also change the number of posts per page under User CP/Settings/Edit/Thread Display.

Me too. I spent an evening going through in detail this entire thread. Let me tell you, it payed off and I appreciate the effort everyone has put into this thread. It has helped me a bunch.

Now where is the "contribution" button for Shalimar's Gun Fund? :D

Thanks For this thread

I would like to say thanks to all who posted on this thread, not only did it keep me entertained during my wait, but was instrumental in obtaining my license.
Here is my timeline from Manitoba..(Following related Advice of course..)

Sept 15,2010 = Passed Both Non and Restricted Exams
Sept 16,2010 = Mailed Application Priority Mail (with Money Order)
Sept 22, 2010 = Internet Status Now Initial Processing Complete, In progress
Oct 4,2010 = I called and was forwarded to my Interview
Oct 7,2010 = Had References call in and interview complete
Oct 15,2010 = Called and They said it was Approved just waiting on 28 day
Oct 19,2010 = Status changed to application approved and in the mail.
Oct 28,2010 = In my mail box... bought a 30.30 and at the range that afternoon learning iron sights.
Not only did I get too shoot all afternoon there was a guy at the range with a 50BMG and he let me shoot it  , he said that’s what shooting was all about, one heck of a nice guy. And I will most certainly carry that attitude with me for any new shooters I may run across in my travels.

Thanks CGNers

Jim

Call

ok,,,so should I just wait or should i call them in a week or so??

As mentioned earlier, it wouldn't hurt to call and, given that all your papers are in order, ask them if, since you've already got them on the line, they would like to do the interview. Then also if you can have your references call in.
Good luck
