Shorten PAL Approval Times

Got my stamped results for both in the mail today. Hope yours come soon! I will fax tomorrow and let you know how the next step goes.

I have a question regarding the fax number. Are you going to use the main fax number (613-825-0297) or where you advised to use another?

Sorry. I have the fax # at work but I got it from calling in and they gave it to me. I believe it is a 1-800# though. I will post it tomorrow.

Rtangri, I bet it will be this week. Hope so due to the postal strike that may happen.....

Ya seeing as once it goes through the RCMP, it has to go back to the CFO again. Another wait.

I am going to call tomorrow to make sure that they got the picture that I had to resend and to confirm the process and #. I will also try to get some time lines.

What was wrong with your picture?

They said it was not acceptable. Got a form letter. I think it is because it was the same picture that I had sent in years ago for my POL renewal. They probably wanted a more recent one. I got a new one done and mailed it last week.

ahh, I see, took under 10 days for mine to go online. Good luck.

Give them a call, they are usually pretty happy to help

Send in my App 49 Days ago... what I meant is when you fax or send your
stamped results it will take up to 3 weeks to show up in their system if you sent in your application before results, and after that probably additional 2-3 weeks to have a plastic in your hand.So realistically currently time for Ontario its about +4 months from your test dates.

Nice! Interview this morning, and both references already called in right in the morning aswell. Had another interview with the local sergeant. He said to expect the PAL within 10 days in the mail!

lol @ Sapper, haha you lost the race!

TOTAL TIME ABOUT 1.5 MONTHS FROM CLASS TO PAL ISSUE IN ONTARIO

So.....a summary

March 24 , app shows in RCMP system as received
March 26-27, Rest./Non.Rest. Classes
Emailed the approved results, faxed to RCMP
Interviewed morning of may 17, got references to call.
Forwarded to local officer-interviewed again at 2:30 and said to expect it in the mail within 7-10days
Checked it 10 minutes ago:

Rtangri. I left you a message in the other thread you started. Good for you! I just hope the postal strike (if it happens) does not screw you.

I am going to call later this week on mine. I am not as much in a rush as you are as you needed for a job.

2Bad4U, I called the RCMP this morning to verify the fax # to fax in my test results. The # is 1-800-411-0622. The agent that I spoke to told me to ensure that your application # and name was clearly marked on it to ensure it gets matched up.

She also told me to call later this week to follow up.

Good luck!

Thanks again Sapper, definitely in a better mood now that I don't have to call and call lol
Well if its issued on Thursday, hopefully it should be in my box by Tuesday...Orillia can't be that far :p

Either way I don't get back from the UK until the 26th so no real advantage :p

Thanks for the fax number.

Now if only my stamped test results would come in.

Hope you're not waiting for stamped results to mail in (registered) your application, with a note that "test results to follow".
The moment (Mr? Mrs? Miss?? Ms?) Brown of Miramichi signs the CanadaPost delivery (signature required) your 28-days countdown starts,

I even sent in my application before I took the courses and tests with a note saying, "test results will be faxed in as soon as I get them from CFO -Ontario-."
Back in September (when I sent my application) and beginning October (when I took the CFSC and CRFSC), I received the test results in mid-November, but my countdown 28-day timer had already started before I even took the courses.

Hey 3strokes. I've been following the Post #1 instructions. I passed the CFSC and CRFSC courses on May 8th. I sent by registered mail the completed application, photo and a note stating that the stamped test results will be faxed in once I receive them from the Ontario CFO. My application was received and signed by a D. Brown in Miramichi on Monday, and tomorrow I will be calling them to confirm that they have received my application which will hopefully make my application visible on their web site latter this week or next.

From the sound of things on this forum Ontario applicants should expect a 4 month wait from beginning to end. I find it difficult to believe that it will probably take the Ontario CFO 7 to 8 weeks to send me my stamped test results. Now my waiting game begins.

I wish i had discovered this thread earlier! Crap! I wrote my test on march 5 and waited 8 weeks to get test results before sending in my app. Wa wa wa wahahah! It has been almost 3 weeks since they signed for it and still no sign of it on their system. They have got to hurry up, I've already paid for 2 rifles on layaway! LOL Jealous of all the other provinces.

You guys, the wait in Ontario doesn't have to be 4 months. I sent in my app before the test, both during the last week of THIS March. Total time of about 1.5 months in Ontario. All you need to do is keep on top of it- supervise the transition from offices

Hey just curious if anyone has run into this issue. My license has been issued today, I called the CFC and they said I could answer my security questions and get my PAL number from the alberta CFO. They transferred me to the alberta CFO office. After talking to a number of different people there, they told me that they can not give out my PAL number to me over the phone. But they will give it out to the executive of the Rifle and Revolver club in my area through email. I was asking why they can give my PAL number to someone I have never met but will not give it to me over the phone as this does not make sense to me. But they would not give me a straight answer. Has anyone else had this happen?

erin.honeyman@rcmp.grc.gc.ca - The employee I was talking to.

they did the same thing to me, but it was the BC cfo...

they would let me come in person to get it but not give it over the phone. While another person who had there license approved the same day was able to get theres over the phone..
so if you live in edmonton you can swing by and get it with no problems.
