Shorten PAL Approval Times

Still waiting on "the golden stamp" from CFO. It's been 5 weeks. The postal strike isn't helping either. Anyway, my question is, if I have a POL licence now, will I still do the 28 day waiting period once I send all the paperwork to Miramichi? I'm applying for a PAL licence only.

The "golden stamp" is so poor you could probably make a better one from a generic kit at your local $ store

If you already have a license the 28 days does not apply.

My licence was issued on Friday. Will I have any luck calling the BC CFO to get my RPAL#, especially in light of the CP strike? There's a paid-for shotty waiting for me at Ellwood Epps.

i called and got my number and such...called every shop around...apparently you need the card

But how do mail order/online sales work if they need to see your card?

Indeed.... and even the 28 days is pointless stupidity.

However that said.. there is no reason why it should ever not have been done and issued and put in the mail on the 28th day.

It seems they received quite a few applications prior to the CP lock-out which is delaying things.

I sent my app via reg mail and they've received June 13.

The CFP agent confirmed that the 28 day process begins on the date of receipt.

I sent my application via registered mail also, CP website tracker said that it was "Successfully Delivered" on June 10. Still nothing online. Did the CFP agent tell you they received it, or did you find out online?

The agent didn't confirm actual receipt. The only confirmation I have is the signed delivery sig on the CP website. I told this to the agent and she said that's good enough and that the app has probably been stamped already and waiting to appear online - she said to give it a few more days.

I'm confident my app is fine in terms of missing info/data etc. I went through it a dozen times before I mailed it in.

It took 2.5 weeks for my application to appear on their web site. More than a few days as suggested above. Apparently this is normal.

Mine was recieved at Mirimichi on 5th May,I sent it in two weeeks before that,Today(Jun 21) it was approved,It takes a while to be processed,it would have been longer if i didnt request an interview and got my references to call in for thier RPAL interviews.

Now i have to wait till CP sorts itself out now.

i know they give another address when you call but they say for emergencies

As has been posted before the answer is no.... but all the rest of the BS will apply regardless.

My application was received at the Firearms Center May 24, appeared on the website a little after 2 weeks. Got my phone call today June 22 as did both references, and the website now says license issued.
