What are the timelines like in BC?

Passed courses at Silvercore, Vancouver - May 6
Everything in mail to Mir - May 7
Application recieved - May 11

Havent seem much on here about BC...

I can give you mine so far...

Passed silvercore course April 7
mailed (regular post, but from St John's NFLD) april 11
received april 16
showed up online may 4th, "in progress"
called for interview May 14
references called (not called in) May 14

May 11 + 28 days (minimum).
If RPAL, I'd call around 08June and ask if there's anything missing and, with a smile, "As long as I'm on the on the line, could I do my interview now?" If they're in a good mood, you might get lucky (No, not that "lucky". Get your mind out of the gutter. :D

If (No R) PAL, I'd call around 08June and ask if there's anything missing with a smile.

They might, on the other hand, have already called you before that (One can dream!)

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply, thats what I figured. Was hoping maybe BC was special or something... :(

i figure if i get mine in less than 6 - 8 weeks after dropping it in the mail that is fairly good service, i am upgrading to rpal so no 28 day wait. i dropped it in the box on monday april 16th shows online as of april 23 and processing done and in progress by the 10th of may. i called in and asked about interviews and was told to wait a week then call in and see.so if interviews are done by the 16th of may i should be receiving my rpal by the end of may putting it at about 6 weeks total time. i hate waiting lol

Hey Calalta,

Is this one a record-breaking thread?

Even if it's not, you, Calalta, have helped hundreds of us.

Just called into check my status and the sweetest words every. Your application has been approved!!! WOOOOO!

Application arrived in Mirmachi April 11th
Approved May 14th

34 Days total not bad.

Thanks for all the help in this thread and on this forum.

Just wanted to add my tracking to the stats:

2012.03.31: courses taken/passed PAL/RPAL
2012.04.10: sent application and related documents registered mail
2012.04.13: Application received @ Miramichi
2012.05.02: Application shows up online
2012.05.09: request for info letter shows up in the mail
2012.05.10: Called in with info, interview done, reference interviews done

*Your application has completed initial processing. It is now in progress.*

2012.05.14: Called CFC for status update since online status hadn't changed. Informed that 1 reference interview was outstanding. "WTF" occurs.... Call reference and ask if he can all in again. Reference redoes interview and mentions that he called in last week. Interviewer shows there was a call logged the same time he had called last week (reference has call logging at work) but apparently the interview wasn't entered into the system. "WTF Redux" occurs.....

Reference called me immediately after interview redone, online status checked:

Current Status: Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued. If you have not received your licence within 2 weeks please contact the Canada Firearms Centre Toll Free number. (1-800 731-4000)

Duration: 31 days including 2 hiccups.

Of note: No out of the ordinary questions except during the "missing interview", the interviewer kept asking my reference if I was present and pressuring/coaching the reference on answers.

Approx 23 days to approval, once received. Then another couple of weeks until it arrived in the mail.

2012 March 24 & 25 - took the non-restricted courses. 100% on both written & practical
2012 March 28 - mailed in the application for PAL by registered mail
2012 April 4 - application received in Miramichi
2012 April (first three weeks) - called in once per week, but no reference # to give me.
2012 April 27 - My initial application was finally processed. I was rubber stamped & PAL was in processing.
2012 May 10 - PAL received in the mail.

I will add that I was told by my CFSC instructor that we could get a reference # for our application a few days after applying. But I called each week and it took roughly three weeks for them to get a reference # assigned to my application, and when they did... it got rubber stamped. No interviews at all. So in my case, getting interviewees to call in was not only pointless, it just couldn't have even happened.

called in again today and was told to call back in a couple days and try for my phone interview and get the extension number for my references to call in. sweet! im still having a hard time deciding on buying a m&p 40 or a nork m4 cqa.

My application for an NRPAL was received on Mar. 5, has anyone in Ontario recently received theirs? How long did it take from receipt of application to issue?
Thanks

PS: Took around 5 weeks to get my CFSC stamped by the CFO and returned.

UPDATE: April 29 and still nada.
I have however discovered that the 45 day processing time in Ontario is 45 BUSINESS days which pushes the date of issue back to 9 weeks from the date of receipt.
UPDATE May 14 and still nada and whats more... bad news for all
Hi All, I was told today by the CFO for Ontario that they have a massive backlog and are currently processing PAL apps received in JANUARY!!!!!! So much for 45 days processing time. You guys from out west make me sick!

I just completed my application yesterday. 4 weeks and 5 days from them recieving it. The times seem to very alot. I had missing information on my application that probably had the extra 5 days on there. So your looking at a month anymore then that I would continue to call in and request an update.

+1 Thk

Must be a global axis shift that moved the "Centre of the Universe" west..... :dancingbanana:

All interviews are done. I have tried calling but they just keep saying it will be processed soon. I hate waiting......

Did you confirm with the CFC agent that all your interviews were done? Like I stated in my post, my references told me their did their interviews but when I called for an update a CFC agent told me one was still pending. f:P:2:
