Shorten PAL Approval Times

mine took 21 days to show up online and show in process and stayed that way for the next week,
on the 28th day it changed from "finished initial processing" to "now in progress"
on the 29th day I checked online still the same, I called in to make sure their were no errors spoke to Kim
and politely asked how long it could take and jokingly stated I was missing out on a bunch of sales, I could hear a bunch of typing and she then said my app was approved and license issued I said WOW thank you very much, but she would not give me my pal # so I could order online and said I would have to wait on the mail, fair enough.
after I hung up (call took about 10 mins) I immediately checked online again and it had switched to liscence issued,
so call on the 29th day after they recieve it. worked for me I got the feeling if I hadnt called I wouldve still been waiting
heres my timeline
Sent expresspost oct-15
recieved oct-18
showed up online nov-8
28day wait expired nov-14
called in nov14 now approved
recieved in mail nov-26

So a quick update.

Sent Nov 1
Rec'd Nov 2
Showed up online Nov 26
Completed Initial Pros Nov 26

Hoping it will be completed within the 28 days but I did send a check as I was waiting for a replacement visa at the time.

Super bummed...husband and I applied together, both approved and issued on November 14th, his showed up in the mail today, mine didn't. I am not a happy Panda!

8 working days to mail it to you is ridiculous....It only took 4 days for me to send my application to them... Victoria to Miramichi. I suspect after you were approved there was a delay in printing and packaging the cards before they sent them out. It seems a lot of people wait up to 2 weeks for them after approval and I doubt the post office is causing delay. Maybe they only run a batch job once a week to print the cards.

Mine showed up online on Nov. 16 ( 22 days after it was received), and today I called to inquire about the progress of my application and had my interview done at the same time. Both of the female clerks I talked with were very nice and accommodating. Now have to wait for them to call my references.

Finally had my license approved today (33 days total upon receipt at Miramichi).

Here was my timeline;
Oct. 20/21 - took and passed both the CFSC and CRFSC
Oct. 23 - Item sent Expresspost thru Canada Post
Oct. 26 - Item received at Miramichi (this was shown online not until Nov. 16)
Nov. 23 - called to check progress of my application and had interview done at the same time.
Nov. 26 - Ist reference called for an interview.
Nov. 27 - 2nd reference called for an interview, and online status change to license approved 15 minutes after the interview.

Now just have to wait for them to mail my ID and wait for the mailman.

My timeline

Passes rpal test November 7th
All documents sent xpresspost post November 8th
Received by signature in mirimichi November 13th
November 27th-Nothing in the system yet.

I'll put money on Dec 4th for it to show online.

Me too and providing everything is good and they can contact you and your references for interviews (if you are applying for an RPAL that is) you should get approved and issued around December 14th or so, at least that seems to be the timeline right now.

As for me, still nothing in the mail today even though my husband got his Monday and we submitted our paperwork together, were interviewed about 45 minutes apart and were approved and issued on the same day. So incredibly annoying!
I'm resigning myself to the fact that I likely won't get to go to the range and try out my lovely CZ 75 Shadow that's sitting at the store awaiting my license number until the new year, what with transfer times, shipping time etc. NOT a happy camper! :(

Heres my timeline to this point for anyone interested ...

Oct. 14th- completed CFSC
Oct 29th-mailed completed application and test results
Nov 2- application received
Nov 28th- appears online "your application has completed initial processing. It is now in progress." <--- not sure what comes next but my 28 day waiting period will be up in 2 days.

Stay tuned, hope my license is issued soon!!! I cant fricken wait

I'm thinking that if they received it by the end of the week that you mailed it, it should show up online by the end of this week, so about 21 or 22 days from when your application was received.

Thanks, nothing again today. Another day of disappointment :( If it's a no show tomorrow that makes 15 days since issue so I'll be calling to find out whether it's their problem or Canada Posts.
I recently had an issue with our mail carrier so I'm wondering if he deliberately mis-delivered it, though that would make him kind of an idiot, to mis-deliver an envelope that was clearly from the RCMP.

I finally got mine yesterday took 12 days to ship almost the full 2 weeks and im in Ontario, took 29 days for the application to be approved but shipping the card took a lot longer than i thought they must only be printing cards once a week.

I am having a bit of a problem with the wife's application.

They received it October 5th.
All her interviews were done November 8th.

She phoned yesterday (Nov 21) and they wouldn't take her name. They said they are super backed up and expect up to 90 days.

WTF?

Its been 48 days now... FFS.

Thank god I got mine in 30 days when I applied.

They finally issued it... 55 days after they received it...

Another 1.5 weeks and it might be in her hands... Then I can give her the combination to the safe :)
