Shorten PAL Approval Times

So I think the postman is messing with me this is the second day in a row that I have checked my mail and there has been nothing there. (not even a flyer) now i'm worried.

Hey at least you can check your mail. Fate has played a cruel trick on me. I'm expecting the PAL in the mail any day now and the lock on my box happened to take this opportunity to return to it's component pieces. f:P:

Then today the post office provided an amazing service and replaced the lock... however they seem to have forgotten that we'll need new keys along with said new lock... Why me? ovrec

Hope you're not basing your delivery time on what I said about mine. Don't forget I live less than 400km from Miramichi. I think New Hamburg is out towards London if I'm not mistaken lol Im sure you'll get it by Friday

i'm basing it off of the canada post standard for mail delivery and also becuase there is a major distribution and sortation plant 20min from my place.

Oh potentially so close, yet so far! Hope you get keys quick!
Still waiting on my re-issued and re-mailed R/PAL after they screwed up my address on the first one.:bangHead:

My info to date:
Mailed Nov 13
Rec'd in Miramichi Nov 16
On-line this afternoon- Dec 05

That's 19 days in their hands before it showed up...I asked if I could do my interview and they said no. They said they would be calling my references and then calling me. Perhaps I called too soon so I'll call again Friday and see if I get a more helpful person.

Edit...this is what it looks like when it shows up on-line:

Licence Application Status Results

Application Number: xx-#########x-xx

Application Received on: 2012/11/16

Current Status: Your application has completed initial processing. It is now in progress. Please check the status again at a later date.
Note: An accurately completed firearms licence application normally takes about 45 days to process. Incomplete and inaccurate information can add additional processing time.

You must have had a POL to bypass the mandatory 28 day waiting period for new licenses...in any case that was quick

Didnt get my license, (i wish) just the test results, as we speak it is still not showing up online, allthough i did call to see where to fax my result and the attendant said it should show up online as "in progress" next week yeah! may be a chance to get before xmas :)

From what I have read here it takes up to 2 weeks to get to you after it's marked as processed. Since Canada Post got my application from Victoria to Miramichi in 3 days it's logical to assume there is a delay in production runs and getting out their door.

Mine just changed to the same status, it took 20 days for it to show online.

I don't expect to see it before Christmas, maybe I'll see it this year if I'm lucky. Civil Servants don't tend to get much done during the holiday season. And after it arrives I'll have the famous ATT wait. I'll be lucky to own a pistol by February but I will be able to use the shotgun I have on hold for my PAL to arrive.

So found out today that the post man for my area was transfered and mail wont be resuming till at least tomorrow.........sigh........ its almost like being locked out of my mail box lol.......srry

My hopes are that ill see it tomorrow or friday

I don't understand why people wait month after month for the thing to show up in the mail. If it's not in your hands in 2 weeks, call them.

It has to be processing/production runs. We both had ours issued November 14th, my husbands arrived November 26th. When I called about mine after it didn't show up in the 2 week period, I was told it was sent out on November 16th, but to the wrong address as it turns out. It's logical to assume that my husband's was sent out on the 16th as well, so 12 days from "issued" to in the mailbox, 7 whole business days.

I'm so glad I called after the 2 weeks as the CFC site suggests, otherwise I wouldn't have known that they had screwed up my address. Now I'm just waiting for the mail again

I'm afraid I'll have to leave your ranks and join those on the other side of the dreaded wait. My wife picked up the new keys and I had a very long awaited item in the box. Already called CanadaAmmo to finalize my order, it'll be on the way tomorrow or monday.

Sorry but I'm pretty excited.
