Shorten PAL Approval Times

Two years ago (+- a week or two) I was in your shoes.
I had my girlfriend (same building not same apartment but has key) check
my mailbox within minutes of the times we know the postie visits and let me
know SASPO if there was an envelope from the RCMP.
One day it was, "Yes, it's here."
I drove home in the middle of the day to pick it up and hold it
and drove back to work, knowing that when I got home, I could email
the dealer who had been holding a six-shooter for me for two months, to go
ahead and ship it. I also knew that my next session at the range, I'd be shooting
unsupervised. No more "PG" rating for me. I had the "R".

Congrats!!
Well today was day 30 for me, i called RCMP and the nice lady i spoke to said my app is now in the hands of the CFO( ontario) from what she said they are QUITE a bit behind schedule so i am looking at the new year for sure now. Hope it doesnt affect you as well but with 3 stat holidays in between and short works days i fear we are going to wait a bit longer.

Now if only you had read before and sent your app ahead of the "test results" to start the process quicker. Remember only Ont demands the results be sent to the CFO 1st.. (no doubt more BS from C.Wyatt and his other "staff") However it is perfectly legal to send in the app 1sy w/a written note that the results will be following via fax etc as soon as the ON CFO sends them.

I followed the hints to the letter and sent my app before hand lol! Everything is sent, interviews are done(last week) just waiting for CFO to "officially" approve the Rpal app and have my status change to "approved" :) from what iv'e been told the RCMP handle everything then it gets sent back to CFO for some stupid reason......

Given the time of year, if I can get card in hand within 45 days, I'll be happy.... Now the bank account after the 45th day, thats another story! :D

Dont be shy to call them after 2-3 days of your status showing online in progress to do your interviews, also you can have your references call in as well.

Awesome, I'll keep that in mind! Will be nice to relax on the Cuban beaches knowing the interviews are done, and wait time is ticking as I sip my Mojitos!! :cool:
 
Nov 12th mailed in
Dec 13th shows up online (Saying missing information)i call in update my address and lets me know to call in next week for interviews
Dec 20th interview/references called in
Dec 21st shows up online as completed and issued
 
Well, last interview done today. Lady I did interview with suggested I call into CFC after last interview has been completed, which I did. CFC confirmed that all interviews were completed and I just needed to wait for my 28 day wait period to end (which is on Monday the 24th). So a quick question for those of you who have had the "your license has been issued" on the 28th day, does it still go to the CFO before you receive it or has that step already been completed? Just a little confused on how this goes with the CFO final approval. Thanks all!

By the way, congrats ~me!

Issued is issued AFAIK. Just wait for printing and the mail man with the rest of us. *sigh*

Seems like every province is different in regards to the CFO, not sure anymore lol! BC differs alot from Ontario, I would be very surprised if my status changed to "issued" on monday the 24th but it would be like getting a "red rider" bb gun under the tree.

Well for me. I was a current pal holder and after my last interview it instantly was changed to license issued. That was on the 25th day. They told me I needed to wait the 28 days. I called and asked them if I needed to wait or not, they said yes. Go figure...From what I understood in BC anyway it goes into initial processing in Mirimichi. Then goes to the BCCFO office for approval. Then Mirimichi does the interviews and issues the license. Other provinces are different but this is how I understand The BC process at this time.

Maybe thats why mine is taking a bit longer as i am a new applicant?

and i was told my 28th day was monday so i was suprised when it said issued
