Shorten PAL Approval Times

Experiences in Ontario So far....
-June 3 -App received by RCMP
-July 5 - Credit card charged (I called this day as well but they told me to call back in a week or 2, claimed it had not been opened yet)
-July 8 - I called in and got App# after giving name/full address/DOB/middle name etc - Application status still not showing online yet.
-July 8 - FAXed them my PAL/RPAL results (FAX line busy as hell, several failed attempts made).

Well after 33 mins on hold and being told multiple times that they couldn't transfer my call to the CFO in Alberta looks like im drafting a few letters, MP first off and some other political figures....
214 days and still not even processed....

They just charged my credit card today, gonna phone tomorrow and see if they'll give me an application number so I can send in my test results. So far my time line is as follows:
June 2nd - Courses passed
June 5th - Application sent from Grand Falls, NB
June 7th - CFP received application
July 4th - Phoned CFP and was told to phone back next week. Also, received test results from CFO
July 8th - Credit card charged $80 fee

PAL application signed for at Miramichi on May.17.
July.2 - My application did not appear online. Was told they have just started looking through it and gave me an account number. Was told "a few weeks at least before interviews."
July.9 - Licence issued no interviews or anything.

They Charged my CC $40 on the 8th same day as showed online. Was expecting $80 is it less because I'm upgrading from PAL to RPAL?
To those who haven't called in to check status yet....my application does not show online but if I call in they have my information and have charged my credit card, accepted my test results etc so calling could definitely get you more information than the funky online status check.
FYI- For anyone trying to FAX in their test results do not try to use an online FAX service. I tried several free online FAX services (a couple of times each) and every attempt failed with an error saying there was a problem with the receiving number. I gave my results to my Wife to FAX from work and it went through first try. I've always used online FAX services and never had an issue before.
Will be calling later today and see about getting an interview....

Agree with post above. My app was received june 6th and nothing has shown online yet. Called in and there was a problem with my CC info, so I provided info again and payment was made. Probably saved some processing time. Managed to get application number as well even though too early to do interviews at this point.

I just got approved today, after being made wait for nearly 4 months. Over a month and a half ago i moved to the "finished initial processing" or whatever stage. I called 1-800-731-4000 repeatedly trying to figure out what i could do to speed things up. All they would tell me was that my application was sent to the AB CFO office and I'd just have to wait. I tried to get them to connect me to them and they told me they couldn't, so just wait and they will get to it.
Well if you're in AB call 1-800-731-4000, press 1 for English, then 1 again to enter an extension, 9026. that's the AB CFO. I was on the phone with a lady for about 2 mins while she looked me up in the system, did a backround check and boom she approved me over the phone. No need to wait, just give them a call.
Now i just gotta wait for it to be printed and mailed to me! WOOT

Trust me when I say you got lucky. More often than not, dialing 9026 will STILL get you to someone at CFC, not the AB CFO. They'll tell you they ARE in the AB CFO, but if you ask if they are physically located in Edmonton, they'll tell you they're not. If you do manage to get to AB CFO, and that's where your application sits, it's there because it's waiting on a manual review by that CFO - and normally the ladies on the phone aren't the ones who are even allowed to do background checks. So, I'm willing to bet you got someone in CFC, who noticed your application needed that little shove and approved it. It probably didn't require the actual CFO approval. Either way, congrats!

July 9 shows up online
July 10 phone to see what's up and get transferred straight to interview
