Shorten PAL Approval Times

I am seriously angry right now. I was told Friday that the CFO had my application for final approval. Now I phone today and was told they're sending me a letter because I need a new reference. They flat out accused my mother of not being a woman because her voice is deep, and I now need somebody else other than her to be a reference. That is BEYOND ####ed up.

Here is where I am so far. RPAL Upgrade

June 8 Test written
June 9 paperwork started
June 10 Application mailed via Registered Mail & test results on there way to CFO according to my examaner ...
June 13 Rec'd and signed for
June 21 Test results faxed in
July 14 Appeared online
Aug 19 Interview Done
Aug 20 First ref Called in and Done second ref put on hold twice trying again tomorrow
Aug 21 still waiting for ref 2 to get through.....
 
I know I said I was gona phone the RCMP on Thursday but one week ago today the lady told me I will be geting a phone call very soon well heck I will give th a.call today and see where they are at .
 
Well I gave them a phone call I got the interview done and passed that but now I am gona get my refferences to call in and them the lady that interviewed me said that once the refferences phone in then they send it to the province of manitoba now how long can that take ? Dam more crap

Well all I can tell you is that your references better be able to describe their signature IN DETAIL, every letter, and how it's signed.

The CFO's office phoned me back, who then once again sent me back to the CFP, and I was told that the reason my mom was declined as a reference was because a) she didn't sound like a woman, and b) she was unable to fully describe what her signature is signed like. REALLY?! I couldn't tell you what my signature looked like in words! It's a ####ing signature. It's not a piece of art with colours and ####.

Its wired I just had my interview done a few mins ago and I passed but now my refferences gota phone in I don't know if that includes my wife or not amd them the lady told me it will be sent to the province of manitobs for approval I don't know what that's all about ?

Well I don't know what to tell you my references are male and if they did not sound like they where men I would not use them as a refference if they did not sould like there ### lol I don't know man

Hey I got the interview done now after my references phone the lady said they gota send it to the province of manitoba for approval did they send your application s to your head office in your province for approval ?
 
That's the thing, my mother sounds like a woman. It's not a squeaky voice by any means, but it's far from "manly".

I'm just ridiculously pissed off today at this point. I passed my courses almost perfectly. I paid my money. I have no criminal record. I provided the two people as references who CREATED ME. That's not enough for the CFP? I just want to be able to have some fun, that's all.
 
So my wife and I both took our courses in Quebec, but we live in Ontario here is the timeline.

Timeline
June 1
CFSC Taken

June 2
CRFSC Taken

June 6
CRFSC Results Received for both my wife and myself (Both got 100 and 94)

June 12
CFSC Results received for myself but not yet for my wife (I passed but CFSC in Quebec shows no grade)

June 13
CFSC Results received for my wife (she passed as well, again it does not give the grade)

June 13
Application forums filled out and signed for my wife and myself

June 14
Application mailed out registered mail

June 17
Canada Post Registered mail shows both as Delivered

July 11
Payment has been processed, I telephoned the RCMP and they told me that the application has been entered and that I should wait a few more weeks and to call back.

August 14
Both of our applications appeared online (both old and new site) as "In Progress", when I called in they said they weren't ready to interview me yet and to call back next week.

August 21
My wife called in, they did the interview with her and I called at the same time, they did my interview as well, we both gave the reference numbers and extensions to the references who called in within an hour of us. It now shows "Current Status: Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued. If you have not received your licence within 2 weeks please contact the Canadian Firearms Program Toll Free number. (1-800 731-4000)".

Also as a side note, we did an experiment, my wife did not call in once, I called in a few times to check up on the status, but it seems that didn't speed anything up at least not in our case since it seems nothing was missing.

So I guess that's it, does that mean it's issued as it sounds or does it still need to go to the CFO?

That's a new one.. again wyatt's BS. No one I know ever had their ref's asked that.

It as a rule does not include a spouse.. and unless u are in a prov w/o a CFO they all get sent to the CFO for approval (which is retarded)

Nope almost instantly after my 2nd reference was done the status of my license online was changed to issued.
 
this afternoon my References phoned in looked good and right now I just went to that website and I got this I am so pumped a couple hours ago the status was not like this I AM SOOOOOOOOO PUMPED :)

I did my none restricted in the end of May and did my Restricted on the 15th of June and they got my applications on the 20th of June and one week Tuesday ago I phoned in and the lady told me I should be getting a phone call for my interview that was August 13th and today I called in and the lady told me they are ready to do my Interview so she forward me to them and I did my interview . I just got home from work and like I said I went to that website and go this .

Current Status: Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued. If you have not received your licence within 2 weeks please contact the Canadian Firearms Program Toll Free number
