Normally it takes 2 weeks to copy the app into their system, sometimes longer. I've been calling on average, every 4 days since my app was online.

Oct 22 Sent RPAL Application Express
Oct 25 Received by the CFO
Nov 15 Called in, app was not online. They said to give it a week
Nov 20 Cashed-in my money, app was online
Nov 27 Called in again, she said to give a couple more weeks before interviews because they have to scan my photo in the system....
 
I finished my interview and references did their interviews the next day, (November 20th), there's nothing left now for me to do but wait. I'm guessing its with the Ontario CFO waiting for final approval? I wonder how long it takes from here and if there is anything I can do at this point to speed things up.

I'd call the CFO tomorrow or Monday. Figure they use snail mail, CFO should have it by today.

The CFO do not receive the your physical file the file is electronically sent instantly
They share same database Canada wide
We use same S**t at work and the office from Bc or Qc have access instantly

I called today and apparently they were ready for interviews on Tuesday. Funny cause I called on Monday and was told to call in a week.

So 12 days after the cc was charged
 
So one of my references called in and went through all the questions that you would expect but then he was asked to give his guarantee that for the next five years I would not do anything illegal, kill anyone, or commit suicide with my restricted firearms and in the case that I did he would be held criminally responsible is that normal?

When they scan a file in system they process the whole app including picture
"Need to scan picture" bs is only to make you wait more and not ask more questions
My app was on initial processing and I call to fax the certf then I ask if is any missing info in my app then after 2 min on hold
It told me all the info is ok then I ask about the photo and the guy told me the photo is good
All this happened after I call on nov 25 and been told to wait one more week
All info was scan in on Tuesday morning

Seeing as it was my step-dad and knows I'm a sane rational person he said he had no problem saying he was comfortable with me having an RPAL and thought that I would be safe, but he hadn't gone through the process before so he wasn't sure if it was routine or not for such a question to be asked. It definitely threw him off though.

Sounds like illegal activity to me - at a minimum unethical. In all probability that conversation was recorded and there's evidence. I would call the RCMP right away.
 
My first reference got interview around 1530, the second reference at 1545 but missed a call, left her a voice mail. Quebec CFO call to inform me around 1600, only one reference left need to interview then she could approve my RPAL right away. My second reference call back and got interviewed around 1610. Now it's still in progress, I cross my finger to have the approval by tomorrow then I can go to my local pay off my Sig P226.

May not be illegal.. but definitely on the underhanded side esp since such a question is beyond insane in it's very nature.

Too bad you don't have a recording of their asking such a pointless question.
