Not stupid at all...
The guy I talked to (on Monday or Tuesday?) basically ran through the personel history questions that were on the restricted app: Charged/convicted of certain crimes ever or in the last x years? Domestic problems? Violence? Drugs? Depression? Suicide risk? Recent breakup? Recent bankruptcy? What do you want a restricted weapon for? The other thing that he asked me was how long I knew my references for or when we met. It was very matter-off-fact. I could just see this guy in my mind on the other end of the phone with a checklist in front of him reading a questionnaire that he's read hundreds of times before going tick, tick, tick. Lastly, I contacted my references before I had them call and gave them one piece of information: why I wanted a restricted license. I figured that it might be an unfair question to ask my references because neither are "gun" people and frankly I haven't really talked to them that much about it. That said, I wanted to cover my bases. I told them that I want to target shoot at a range. That's it. Good luck!
