When did you send it, and how often did you call them ?? Mine was recieved December 12th, i'm sick of waiting

17 Jan: Application received - confirmed with tracking #
31 Jan: Called, told unable to check if in system.
03 Feb : Called again today, asked to check if in system. Still nothing. Nothing charged to CC yet either...

I mailed mine on the 6th of January and i called last friday to enquire and the lady said to call back in 2 weeks. I checked today to see if its been accepted and it reads: Application Received on: 2014/01/10

Current Status: Your application has completed initial processing. It is now in progress. Please check the status again at a later date. So does this mean i can do my interview as well as my references? My CC has not been charged yet.

I sent my application in with a certified cheque in early June 2013. My application was recieved on June 21, 2013. I had my interview and both references interviewed by Early August. I've called about 8 times now I think, they keep saying my application is fine and the CFO has it. It's approaching 8 months wait now. Good luck guys. This is BC CFO.

All right, here's my update :

December 8th - Mailed my paperwork
December 12 - My request was opened (appeared online only sometime in the first week on January)
January 8th - CC was charged 80$
January 24th - Called Miramichi : been told it was sent to CFO in Quebec and still in progress
January 31st - Called Miramichi : been told since it's a R-PAL, it's no longer 45 days, but 60 days, request still in progress at my Province CFO
January 31st - Called Quebec CFO : Been told that it's still within the 45 days and everything is normal (even though it was 51 days at that point) and to wait for a phone call "soon".
-
February 3rd : Called Quebec CFO : Told them i was calling them back for my interview, then i've been told that it was not the time yet, that they were "treating a lot of requests, more than usual", that everything was still in order and to wait 2-3 weeks for them to call me, or to try and call back in 3 weeks if i haven't heard anything yet from them.

And the SAGA continues !
Patience is a virtue ... that is acquired with a lot a patience...

If i were you i would contact the Ombudsman.. this is not right, you paid for something that is not being taken care of, waiting is one thing.. but 8 months, this is stealing.

Submitted late November, received 12/5/2013.

One of my references was contacted last Friday (Jan. 31), I have not been contacted. Yet checking the website claims my application (for PAL/RPAL) has been processed and license issued and mailed. Is... that normal?

From what i heard, yes. They don't ALWAYS check with you.. and i guess you are lucky your R-PAL is on the way.. my application was received on Dec. 12, and no one has been contacted..

Enjoy :)

thats pretty outrageous! Have you tried contacting the BC CFO directly to see whats up? 8 months is downright unreasonable for a regular application.

Dec22 passed safety course
Dec29 received by mirimichi
Phoned a bunch of times throughout the month
Jan 28 my buddy phoned in my reference
Jan 29 said it had been issued
Feb 4. Still waiting anxiously lol

My timeline:
- Dec. 29 passed safety course (RPAL)
- Dec. 31 application sent with registered mail
- Jan. 6 application received
- Jan. 28 application showed up online as in progress (checked everyday, didn't see it as "processing")
- Jan. 30 called in (extension 2533) to do interview (didn't read about how they are only doing one reference per applicant), told to get one of references call in (my choice which one)
- Jan. 30 reference called in

My 28th day will be on Monday, February 3, hopefully it will be issued by then :runaway:

PS. They recently updated the website for checking the status, much much better.

Just called in today (Feb. 4), was super nice to the guy, he told me that I should call them within a week or so to check again. Just went on the website and it's been issued. The licence number is also shown on the website, so now I'm going to apply for my ATT.

My CC has been charged. Does this mean my references and I can call for the interviews?

probably they wont be ready. Check online and see if its "in the system " yet. My cc was charged 5 weeks before it was listed as being in process. Nothing about this is reasonable or fast.
