I want to be able to comfortably shoulder, pump and fire the gun while wearing my pack and/or plate carrier, so the factory 13-7/8 LOP is just a bit of a stretch. I've looked into some factory options, and I like and would use the magpul sga stock (if I could find one), but for the expense, cutting down the existing stock and fitting a QD cup to it would accomplish what I need to do all the same.
SO - if I shave an inch off the butt, that'll leave about 3/8 of the buttpad hanging off the toe of the stock....that will keep me up at night. Guns need to be aesthetically beautiful, not just mechanically beautiful, in this house.
Do any of you have recommendations for the grind-to-fit pads on the market? I don't have the various grinders that I've seen in instructional videos but I might be able to get away with strapping a belt sander down and doing it that way.
Is this worth my while or should I just look for a shorter LOP stock such as the magpul?
