Shot a Grizzly

I was waiting for someone to comment on the scope...

Here's the story.

I normally always leave the XS Ghost Ring Backup sight on the gun and the scope off.

I was running late when I was packing up to leave from home and decided to leave the sight in my bullet box and leave the scope on.

Then I decided to leave a a box of bullets @ home I was thinking I didn't need those other 50 bullets...

Left the box of bullets at home that had the sight in it... :( so I was stuck with the scope I left it on 2X so it really wasn't an issue.

Thanks for the comments guys I'm now back in Prince George and will start heading home Friday. I have a funeral to attend on Saturday in 70 Mile House (Green Lake) otherwise I would head home tomorrow.

I have a request for all you hunters out there...

The fellow I was going to have do my rug has some health issues and has decided not too do bears anymore can any of you recommend a good taxidermist?

I know there is a fellow in Chilliwack but do not know his work and need some recommendations.

Thanks
CC

thanks for putting up with us we had a great time visiting with you and your wife.

The cartridge wasn't the issue the rifle was...

If it was set up short like Boomers it would have been perfect but having a 26" barrel in such tight conditions dictated to me to do the smart thing and use my short range King with 525gr WLNGC's... :D

It's why I own more than one rifle...

Here are a couple more pic's...

As for a pic of the head this is about as good as it gets the shadows from the trees made it extremely tough to get a good pic.

As a note of interest I am 6'3" and weigh 220lbs and my son is 5'9" and weighs the same as me.

Too bad you didn't have a rifle like this one- The REAL King!

You've been OWNED :slap:

nice bear for sure, my hat is off to you for that! but the KING of 375s would be able to go in after a wounded bear! I can see why you opted for a short barrel 45/70, I wouldnt want to lug around a 26" barrel 375 either :)

Nope not even remotely owned...

When your little 375 Rugers can reach out and knock a monster like this off it's feet at 250 yards I will bow to it or until you come up with a bigger bear than mine I say all the spewing you can throw out there is just pathetic ranting.

If you look at the bear pic's again there is no way I would walk into the kind of cover it ran into with only a little 375...

It is why I put together the best thick bush rifle cartridge combo my Marlin...

Thanks for the humour on the camo comments... :p

The shirt is actually one of my many North Face designed shirts that is made with quick dry material, I gave up on camo years ago kind of feel like a redneck yahoo when I wear it now.

I wear mostly earth tones and all of my outdoor clothes are quick dry materials and once again North Face gets the nod from me for the best available at a fair price.

Aha! You need 2 rifles to shoot/follow up...An owner of the NEW KING, would only need the one to do the job.;)
