I am looking for a number of different ways to carry shot shells. I would prefer Chest mounted and/or belt mounted. I am not very interested in shell caddies or any type of sport carry options, I am leaning more towards the tactical side. Maybe some of you guys could post up your shotgun rigs or give me a few examples? Thanks alot guys!

These are my favorite, 17 rounds, belt or Molle mount & under $30:

I'm trying to stay away from dump pouches... Iv tried them before and don't like them, i'm not a big fan of gear bouncing around, I find it very uncomfortable.

I like my Olongapo Outfitters Grab & Go Shotgun bag, it can hold at least 75 rounds, is quick to access and refill, is very well made and cost me only $70.

I find the better chest mount rigs, formed leather belt loops and shell caddies faster, however these are all very expensive for the amount of shells they offer.

Bandoleers and pouches are not terribly handy, and really how many shells are you going to use in any situation?

8rnds on the gun, 5 in it and another 8 in shot caddies should be all you need.

Although I haven't tried it myself, look into some paintball shops that still deal with some of the older pump crowd. A friend was telling me that a few years ago he picked up a 12 gram bandoleer that the paintball guys used to carry their 10 round paint tubes and their 12 gram CO2 cartridges in it. He used his for 12 gauge shells and he said they were close to a perfect fit.

I'll see if I can find a link for you, but to be honest I haven't seen one on the usual pages in a while.

You don't have to fill a pouch to capacity, and being able to carry a lot of rounds on you saves you time in training if nothing else. Also, if you happen to fumble and drop a round under stress it means little when you've got plenty to spare.

The other thing is, putting on a pouch is a lot faster than donning shell caddies or most loop systems, which is kind of important if a problem shows up unannounced.

After a couple of requests by me, Brownell's is now carrying these in black and coyote brown...:D

What problem takes more than the rounds you have in and on the gun itself?

I think we are getting a little sidetracked here.. My interest in carry shot shells is purely for range use and drills. The reason i wish to carry the amount of shotshells that I stated is so that between drills I dont have to keep going back and reloading saddles and holders, as well as effectivly performing longer drills, and not having to worry about stopping to grab more shot. I do appreciate the input so far. Keep them coming!
