SHOT SHOW 2018: STI DVC Omni 1911 and other new models

Myself would like an STI Edge pro package, if price is reasonably better than a DVC limited
If not maybe a limited in blackout

Section 84 of the Criminal Code of Canada states (in part):

prohibited firearm means

(a) a handgun that

(i) has a barrel equal to or less than 105 mm in length, ...

As stated above, 4.15 inches is equal to 105.41mm. Therefore, although it is very close, 4.15 inches does not meet the criterion for a Prohibited Firearm according to the Criminal Code.
 
The DVC classic now has a sight-tracker barrel, very nice! Also the magwell pictured won’t fit the box. So I was told they will ship with the magwell they have on the older models.

STI also has a line of competition mags in the works, took them long enough. No idea of cost.

And the 3-Gun now comes in hard chrome as well , I still like the black on gold.

well i am not a huge fan of 9mm as i feel it is a bit snappy and i prefer more of the push type of recoil you get from say .45...and again, having shot the DVC Classic directly side by side with the Costa there was a a noticeable difference for me..i think the compensator as well as the larger grip on the Costa helped me better manage the recoil even with the heavier grain.

Fixed it for you - The Classic is still a standard barrel, the Limited will be Island type. And you're right, the Limited will come with a IPSC Box-legal magwell, not the Dawson Ice. (Myself and a couple other foreign distributors caught that at Industry day and they made the change.)

The Chrome is a special run - and limited edition. Only as many as are ordered between now an Feb 1 will be made.

Are you sure on the mags? I know there are new mags out but I’m pretty sure the rep told me they are coming out with a competition mag specifically. I’ve already got a few $k in MBX mags :p

Yep - they promised the new mags for almost 2 years and delivered on them last spring. A crap-load of reviews by people last year hailed them as great mags and our MBX sales died shortly afterward. MBX are gread mags - STI just caught up is all.
 
lol read post #33...like all STIs, the DVC Classic is beautiful, high quality and shoots great...however i prefer the ones in 9mm with compensators..i dont shoot IPSC so i dont care about rules and classes.

Well, I'm kinda biased... ;-)

But I'll tell you how much I like them - I personally have 4 DVC Classics; 2 in 40 and 2 in 9mm. I like the increased sight radius and the gun shoots fairly flat. 9mm doesn't move for me and the 40 is very manageable in major loads. The squared off frame is beefy and they arrive ready to shoot. I'll continue shooting them this year right thru the nationals. The only question is major or minor - and that it seems - is a very personal choice.
