There were some suggestions on splitting the tactical/action shotguns from the sporting/hunting shotguns. Do you guys think it is a good idea or necessary?

POLL is officially closed. Thanks for voting - USP :D

If it would stop some of the trolling that goes on between the two types, I'd be all for it, whether it will or not will have to been seen after the fact.

But on the other hand one could make the argument that we have too many forums/sub-forums as it is.

gonna split the revolvers from pistols too...the more divisions in the firearm community the better right..?

sorry, couldn't help it...a shotguns a shotgun around here...

maybe another poll :p

If you wanna get technical,,,,, Sporting (skeet, trap, 5 stand, etc) and hunting are different too, does that mean you'd need 3 sections?

Why split em up?

On the contrary, IMO, the partition would be considered by most members here as effective categorization of interest specific products/topics.

Personally speaking, I don't own/use a tactical shotgun or any handgun (although at one point in time I had to sleep with 2 loaded 9mm pistols very close at hand), however, that doesn't mean that I'm opposed to folks who have an affinity for such. I also have a great attraction for rifles but now-a-days I hardly spend time in the "Milsurp" or "Precision Rifles" forum.....shouldn't in any manner indicate that I do not support those who do.

Individual interests, thoughts and opinions may vary but that is all there is to that - i.e. diversity. :)

If certain members would self regulate, look the other way, sneer and let the other side have it's fun, we wouldn't need to. Being as that obviously doesn't happen, perhaps it's for the best. The most heated threads have always been 3-4 members dominating a thread discussing something in which they have no personal interest.

Maybe divide the sections by barrel length ;)

I personally, have yet to see anyone from the "Fun Shotgun" camp, take a massive dump all over someone in a thread discussing typical hunting or clay shooting shotguns. It's pretty one sided, in that regard. Maybe we need to tell them how pointless all the fancy engraving and stock fitting is, to bust watermelons.

FYI-this has nothing to do with"effective categorization of interest specific products/topics"
it's about infighting amongst the shotgun crowd...
my point was that rather than getting along everyone gets their own corner of the playground...
we're all in this together, like it or not...
read my sig ;)
