No i wouldn't want to do it at all!
A shotgun is a shotgun and can be used for both applications, you have the search field if you want to get into specifics and will have to use them if they were split or not. Plus if you can easily keep up with the new posts on CGN. Too many groups makes things too complicated not good at all. CGN is growing really fast now and i think it's current layout is original and perfect. KEEP IT THAT WAY :)

...but i would expect no less from you than to jump to the defense of your Fudd-buddy. this is why we need a forum where hopefully you two and your ilk will stay, and people can actually start a thread about tactical/norinco/short shotguns without you Fudds sh*tting all over it.

It's a shame you don't have any friends. Do you think it's because of the way you look? Or because your the first one to toss out the Fudd moniker when someone does not agree with your point of view?

Read my first post in this thread. I agree with your position on splitting the forums. No need for you to call me or anyone else names. Take yes for an answer.

But don't get your hopes up that if there is a new forum focusing just on tactical shotguns guns that shooters with a broader interest in the subject of shotguns won't participate.

Does this broader interests phenomenon entail bashing other peoples choices?

Nobody cares who participates in what forum, it's how some choose to do it that others have a problem with.

OH come on now, Id hate to see everyone get along. Personally, I like watching manbear take on all the fudds. Its pretty funny. (no offense to either side, unless it will make you argue more) Plus, I just wont know where id fit in. Last week I bought a 14" 870P AND a Browning superposed. :)

However, I would suggest a forum revolving around all things tactical. Or an urban solder forum. (mall ninja) Sometimes id like to ask a few of these type of theoretical questions, but dont feel like getting made fun of.

Why don't some of the Nancies in this thread stop worrying about what other people say about their particular gun interests.

I personally feel that splitting is pointless, you will still have trolling, incendiary comments and attacks on what you like to do with your guns. Learn to deal with it and ignore any of the comments/suggestions you don't find helpful and/or positive. If someone is particularly inflammatory and does not heed warnings to stop, they can be removed.

Part of getting along is learning not to rise to the bait. Trolls troll because it's fun and there are no shortage of fools who step right up to give them exactly what they are looking for, a reaction.

Same discussion over on archerytalk, create a (basement forum) for the tactical crossbow crowd within the compound bowhunting forum or lump them all together with target shooting folks.

A barrel less than 18 inches is useless for hunting or claybusting so Hunters\Skeeters should have their own forum!

Single Forum..... A shotgun is a shotgun is a shotgun with the only difference between the various types is basically the dressing and the length of the barrel.

I like all areas of firearms and can't see myself browsing through a multitude of forums in order not to miss anything.

Let say for example someone is interested in trading his hunting shotgun for a tactical one....... where would you put it and where would someone be more apt to look? In addition, where would you look to find how to convert a hunting shotgun to a tactical one?

My 2 cents,

Duke1

I would hope not but as someone who visits many threads and has interests beyond shotguns I've observed that criticism of firearm's choice is not limited solely to shotguns. Just search the term Glock if you need further proof.

Is this the sole reason to split the forums? Are some tactical shotgunners that thin-skinned?

BTW, I currently own a tacticool shotgun (it's my shotgun and I can call it that) and several others previously. I don't get terribly bothered if someone offers a criticism about the choice, configuration, application, accessories or even the sensibility of owning one. Mine is however used for more than just range fun and shooting watermelons. I've not felt threatened by a watermelon and have yet to find a reason to shoot one. YMMV.

Fudds are thin skined too ya know. Moreso given the general demographic of it's "population".

It appear less usefull to me to split this forum than the EE shotgun. (along with the rimfire one short/long gun)

In a knowledge (sort of) forum more eyes is better where in a selling forum you can't really be too specific.

then again it's just my 2cent

Perhaps but the driving force to split the forums seems to be coming from those whose interest in shotguns is primarily tactical.

Yep .. I wonder why that is?? ... maybe some guys are tired of being insulted and ridiculed left right and center by Fudds that are full of themselves.

Not trying to insult anyone ... just look at the demographics of the two sides. Pretty easy to see which one is more likely to have bitter judgmental pricks as part of it's following.
