Shotgun forum split???

GT - Why not just give us a Tactical Forum...period. Somewhere you can ask tactical oriented questions that seem to twist the 'mainstream' users panties, whether Shotgun, Rifle, Pistol or even Blackpowder. I realise many of the Black Gun users think they are the 'Tactical' forum, but even they are pissy primadonnas at times...throw a Tacticalised Browning BAR or Remmy Autoloader in there and we all know the thread will end up nuked.

if people dont wish to be referred to as 'old prick fudds', perhaps they shouldnt make a career out of trolling tactical shotgun threads.
most people here spend time posting about their interests, not pissing on other peoples interests.

LOL, I find it pretty funny that this thread almost instantly went the way of all the other. Kind of Ironic really.
Shotgun world has had a basement for years and it works well.
But if splitting the forums is only to alleviate the constant banter and useless drivel that the shotgun forum is all about..than pick you battles wisely. Would you prefer to moderate one thread or two...Either way, this ain't even about shotguns anymore.

Sweet baby jesus ... NEVER have I said I wasn't insulting anyone (in general) ... I said I'm not insulting anyone specific (NO NAMES). If anyone wants to be insulted I'm sure they'll find a way so read the post so that it is.
If you walk into a room with 100 people in it and say "there are pricks etc. in this room" you are not insulting anyone but throwing it at everyone until an assessment is made (by them). You are making a general statement.
Now the guy that get's pissed off because you stated there was a (...) in the room is one that fits the description. Why would he get mad if he doesn't fit the profile???

Antis call us "evil": we don't like it but can hold reason in our arguments while defending our views, the facts etc. Because we are NOT what they try and portray us to be. (there evidently are some exceptions)

I didn't think he was referring to me and was not insulted whatsoever. I just noted the inconsistencies in his argument and observed that not all the tension was caused by just one side.
I'm not against tacticool shotguns in general otherwise I wouldn't own one with a 14" barrel and some nice accessories. It has it's place in the scheme of things and looks quite handsome in the safe among the custom sxs and the target guns. As I don't live in an area with shooting restrictions it occasionally will be found elsewhere in the house.
Just who he might have been referring to with his remarks is unclear however one of his earlier posts might be helpful. He didn't, in fairness, call anyone a Fudd with once notable exception.
EDIT: Yes claybuster I said Fudd. And I also think the majority of the issue has stemmed from them. That said ... I am a Fudd to a certain extent. Just not a crabby old guy that may have voted for Turdeau way back when.
At least he and I have one thing in common. I never voted for Turdeau either.
The split would be good, and bad, as all things are when pigeonholed.
The question is whether the dividing line is in the right place - I don't see why we need three fora (black, red, and battle rifles) just to go over the same topics: Norinco products vs the rest of the semi-auto crowd.
Splitting shotguns into "sporting" and "tacticool" would probably be appropriate, considering the divergent interests, but also... Is just dividing us all into smaller and smaller sub-cultures.
Tough call.

..but yet again, when you have nothing intelligent to say to refute what was posted you simply spew forth your third grader level personal insults. id laugh, but i actually feel sorry for you.
i dont see the big deal about one more forum. there is nothing stopping someone from reading/posting in both. its one click away.
it might serve to reduce the amount of fudd posts however -- since the next time one trolls a tactical shotgun thread, theyll be met with a 'if you hate tactical shotguns why the hell are you posting in the tactical shotgun forum?'.

Oh come on, im just as much of a fan of yours. His comments wouldnt be half as funny if you didnt fight back.
Ok lets all take a step back for just one second. There might be a desition made that effects the shotgun forum forever, lets make sure its the right one. I think all the fingerpointing and name calling in the world wont cool thing off. How do we go from here and keep all parties happy and civil.
I think that splitting the combined knowledge of the shotgun forum would be a mistake, however there needs to be a place for tactical discussion. I would be in favor of a straight tactical forum where people can feel free to talk about such. Infact, I would frequent the forum, as well as enjoy the shotgun forum in its entirety

then start giving blatant trolls timeouts.
ie: people who make a career out of going into threads such as 'Dominion Arms Outlaw Owners Thread' or 'How Do You Like Your Outlaw?' and trolling away despite never having owned one a DA gun or having any interest in coach guns.

Could not agree with you more! My preference is hand thrown zuchinio and potatoes. I voted for a split, but my split would be on choice of fruits and vegetables that are suitable for targets.
