I would think you can only store a gun in the car if you have a garage; so that the car and therefore the gun is still stored in your house/ place of residance. If you live in an appartmant and keep the gun in the car parked somewhere on the street than you're not storing the gun where you said you will in your PAL application.
I think it would be nice to have if you were traveling by car somewhere and were preparing for an emergency (animal attack, etc.)
Being broken down on the side of the road in wilderness country @ 3 am it'd be nice to know if a bear were to think I was tasty and attack me I'd show him I wasn't as easy to swipe as a pic-inic basket![]()

Absolutely nothing in there as to where the firearm will be stored that I can find.
b) if you're being harassed by 2 legged predators, would you really want to have that resort available to you? You'd be too tempted to confront them rather then involving the authorities. Either way feeling threatened and worried and having a gun in your car could make you look like a nut.
Though we're all gun nuts, ask yourself. Do you like your gun license?
Oh jesus christ.......
I'm being harrased by "2 legged predators" in the middle of nowhere, and it may mean my life?? No question I'm going to "confront them" with my shotgun and say back the fawk off.. I'm not waiting for the local constabulatory to get there!!! Holy cow man.........
Damn straight I'd want "that resort available to me me" !!!!
If it isn't, I could be DEAD..........
You have to remember couple of things
1) Social responsibility
If you spook someone with your shotgun in your car, you are being irresponsible and that will give them the right to take it away from you or worse
2) Having a gun in a car with a passenger
If you have a passenger and you step out for any reason and leave the passenger in your car. You have now left an unlicensed personal in possession of firearms. That means they could be charged with that if they got caught being your vehicle while you're not there.
There is no law that states you can't take your shot gun and hold it in your hands while on the way to the car. However there is the questions of social responsibility. In that case you aren't being socially responsible thus you'd be breaking the law.
The "social responsibility" is very vague and can easily be used in any way they want to.
Though driving with a firearm in the arm might seam cool and safe to you. I do recommend you ask yourself couple of questions
a) what are the chances of getting attacked by a predator? Do some research how many other people got attacked while leaving their cars in the past 5 years, or 50 years.

What use would a gun license be to me if I were dead?

Social responsibility is not some foreign object, it's something that everyone should be always concerned about. That applies to doing dangerous things and scaring civilians. Everyone has different sensitivity threshold. Some can handle it and some can't, if you scare some poor mother with 3 kids with your gun as you take it out of your trunk, than shame on you.
lolI read an article about having auto-flush toilets removed in NYC because it frightened some children. Some grown-ups are scared of clowns, or dogs, or ethnic minorities. It would be retarded in the most degrading sense of the word to stop these things from being present because some poeple are scared. If the law is not broken, which it isn't in transporting an unloaded, unlocked, uncovered shotgun from house to car, then fukk it and piss on anyone who says otherwise. Society wherever you are from needs to harden the fukk up.
I won't even touch the whole "you're irritated and have a gun and will probably kill someone" bullshiit. Hemrroids get irritated and if you pull a gun because someone is pestering you, then I suppose you are a hemrroid.
