The circle dot reticles work well for shotguns.... "donut of death"
Oh damn. I was just thinking about how my shotgun could use a red dot for next years spring turkey season, and I was thinking about trying the Olight reflex sight... Never realized people were making these nifty little mounting plates though! I thought I'd have to use a pic rail and adapter. That it does hahaha
On the underside of an Aimpoint Micro (and clones with the same footprint) there are 4 screws, and a little square slot that interface with its mount, whether the Aimpoint factory one or any other.

If you want to cowitness irons, CROM smiles on us haha. Only game in town, but if you don't care about the irons as much there are options for half the price, like our own domestically made S&J Hardware versions. The two on the left are for Aimpoints, the two on the right for RMR style

Talley makes a very simple RMR mount as well, but I'd rather buy Canadian if possible.

I think that more important than the type of sight is the reticle in the sight. A great big dot in a tube scope will beat a 1 minute dot in a reflex sight every time. A six minute dot seems silly, but with a shotgun, you're going to be shooting minute of 6 inch plate at 100 using slugs anyway. In closer, the big dot, or better, a circle dot will be many times quicker for most people.
Not that I have seen yet, sorry! But this is based on only a quick Google search....not the most thorough. Happy you've got some better options now though!Oh damn. Thanks Joel, definitely gonna have to give these a look. Have you seen the Talley one for sale in Canada yet? I don't need one with a rear sight, so that or the S&J models would fit the bill nicely for me.
Man you will like it! I grabbed a new Mossberg 940 pro Turkey 18.5” with the rmsc shield cut out and put a Holosun eps on it. I chose it over the 407/507c for two reasons, 1 it’s enclosed but 2 also slightly lower deck height. And man it’s got fov for days being closer to your face like that but also astigs less like not even there for me on this one. I went green and I love the 32 moa circle only reticle, which is 16 at 50 and 8” at 25 yards. Was easy to shoot near ragged hole groups at 40 yards with challenger slugs that way and Carlson extended IC choke.Definitely prefer the sight picture of reflex sights, and their small size
Really wanting to try and enclosed reflex sight on something
I tried the green holosun 507c and I found it made my astigmatism worse. I went back to red which is nearly perfect. Weird.I really like the reflex far back on the receiver like a traditional receiver sight
Green is an absolute gamechanger vs red for those of us with astigmatism
Nothing red is too successful in AlbertaHey glad to hear that, gun internet has more disinformation than the normal internet (terrifying) and I'd hate to contribute to that
Probably shouldn't base my amateur optometry findings on a sample size of two, especially when those people are both from Alberta
