both new in march this year, shot less then 200 rounds troue it, got factery mag, 2 tapco mag, 2 non ruger steel 5/40 mag and a 3x9x40 leaper scope

Because I have shot both of them, and I would rather have a proven design that is tough as nails, especially with yours being half decent in the accuracy department.

Keltec products are great at their original price point but IMHO are not worth their Canadian price tags.

Guns that feel like you can break them by just dropping them are not impressing me. I like to know if I run out of ammo I can use my gun as a club.

And I am a Glock fan, just in case you were wondering.

interesting! have you ever held, fired a rfb? cause my rfb feel super solide like you could kill a mule by hitting it and I really like the fit and finish. would this be only a su-16 thing?

I will agree the RFB is an exception to the rule, but at that price point it better be.

Like I said I have handled the SU16, and fired a couple.

I would buy it at $550, but at $800? Hell no!

I do agree with Browningautorifle... never sell your guns, buy them and keep them, you will be happy you did when you get older... JP.

A) Never sell any gun.
B) Keep the mini-14
C) Keltec is gimmicky and flimsy the Mini-14 is proven and solid.
D) If money is tight, then don't have gun envy. Buying and selling guns is a good way to slowly deplete your funds.

Nothing more you can do to piss off a liberal. Keep the mini, and save up for the su-16. I have a mini and want to buy an su-16, but think the mini is better imho, proven solid, reliable and reasonably accurate.

I have not shot ether so I can't say my oppnion matters much, but judging on the history we all know the mini-14 is one hell of a great rifle. The Kel Tec SU 16, just by looking at the way the bipod comes out gives me the shivers.. Weak points on plastic mounts? It looks like some thing that should say "as seen on tv!" also your selling one gun to get another that serves the exact same purpose but is not a known quantity. Save your money, and buy some thing really unique and cool.

Or buy a Remington M700 in your choice of caliber and build a tac driver. ;)

KelTec does not have a strong reputation in the states. With the RFB I think they are attempting to have something in the high-end market but the rest is designed to be cheap.
Most gun places like to have a margin of 30% so if the US price is $550 then it probably cost them less then $260 to build it (30% for them, 30% for distributors/retailers). Think about that.

The Mini-14 may not be as ###y but it is a proven, solid design that works.

Definitely keep the mini-14. I always think about selling guns because I get bored of them but in the end I'm happy I keep them minus some of the crappier guns I sold off.
