Show me your built M14

Hey guys, I'm new around here, still waiting on my PAL to come through, but I wanted to comment and say these are some GREAT looking rifles! I'm hoping to pick up a Norinco M305 soon, looking forward to building it up having learned a lot reading here already!

Just a little less than 3 years ago.

H20 man, how do you choose which rifle to shoot on any particular day when you have such a vast collection? is it a numbered thing or a roll of the dice LOL, in all seriousness that is an excellent collection indeed

Thanks! The decision is much easier today, as only 2 remain.

My original idea was to get a CASM mount, 3-9 scope, and a CoyoteM1A cheek rest. Then as I started buying things I thought "Hey look, another cool part, I just gotta have that!". 16 pounds and $1000+ later...

Yes I really like the prs stock on it. It's nice and solid and allows you a proper cheek weld. All I'm using it for is at the bench. Trying to find a sweet load for that rifle.

Both my M1A and the Norinco both like the IMR 3031 with 168 grain Hornady Match bullets. Depending on the day they both seem to like 39.3 to 39.7 grains of 3031!

Good to know. I just picked up a pound of 3031 today I'll load some up tomorrow and see how they work. So far I've been using h4895. But haven't been very impressed with the results. I've tried 150g sst and 168g smk. I also picked up a box of 175g berger tacticals so I'll give them a try. Thanks Rod

I was going to do the same thing (wood stock), but figured I'd have some fun painting the norinco stock. I may just keep it now.

Hey All,

I started work on my first 305 build. So far I haven't done to much yet, other than my research, I added a match grade spring guild and a scope mount(M14.CA). Now I have been scouring the internet looking for various USGI internal components. Also there is so many stocks out there I dont know where to start. My thinking was a nice solid hardwood stock but this is heavy and does not allow for the mounting of rails. But I like the traditional look....

Post some pics and spec of your 305 build and it would be great to know your concept or philosophy behind the build.
