Not that hard. If I was to do it again I would get one from Expedition Imports in the US. The dealer I bought mine from in Canada is crooked as hell. Mine is the more desirable long wheel base turbocharged fast axle model whic is the only one I'd consider. They can be had from Expedition Imports for 30,000$ plus shipping and taxes etc etc.

I was a Toyota guy before this and dumped lots of money into aftermarket parts to make a truck something it was never designed to be from the factory. A Unimog just makes sense, factory front and rear air lockers, shift on the fly four wheel drive, 44"x15.5" tires, 20" ground clearance below the axle, 3000 kg payload capacity. It just makes sense.

Ya just tried mine out, went out tower road. The new grip certainly reduces recoil by a tonne. A lot easier on the wrist then the pistol grip.

I was on the phone with the Canadian Firearms Program this morning, and they seemed to imply that this might not be accurate.

I'm currently waiting to hear back from them.

Not super-surprising, considering that initial post is over a year old. It's so helpful when the RCMP waffles one way, then another.

Built to take a #### kicking and keep on ticking after all the what seemed like an endless amount of work. She's pretty but all function dont have to worry about rust with the cerekote and the adjustable stock is nice for when I have a bulky jacket on or just a tshirt good to go all seasons.

Don't try that in Canada. As far as I understand the rules a firearm must be out of site if transported on a motorcycle. I was told you couldn't just throw it on a sling and ride off.
That would definitely be a sweet setup though as I doubt many dipsh!t drivers would dare cut you off if they saw that.

No it isn't true. A non-restricted only has to be unloaded to meet the transport regs. While it would be legal to simply sling a long gun and ride to the range, you can expect panic among the sheeple and a serious police response to a "man with a gun" call. There are a number of CGN members who have done this and it almost always ends with a roadside stop talking to pissy police officers. Since you list your location as southern Ontario, I would say you could expect a response closer to the ERT end of the spectrum. In small town Alberta I bet a single cop or maybe two would stop you and have a chat to be sure you aren't a crazed lunatic.

Given your location, I would suggest a gun case with shoulder straps that let you wear the case like a back pack (assuming you can ride like this) or mounting a carrier for the case somewhere on the bike, just to avoid the PITA caused by stupid people freaking out.
