My new Ruger No.1 in .475 Linebaugh showed up on friday (Thanks
Prophet River!), and today I found a minty Weaver 2.5 K series scope
at a small local gun show for 60 bucks. I think this will be an ideal
combination for the kind of shooting I enjoy around here.

I've owned Ruger No.3's in the past, but never a No.1(Dumbass me!):redface:
Lets see what you folks have out there in these great rifles.
Stock or custom, bring 'em on.

^ I see that nozzel on the end of that 460! I know it's there for good reason! My oldest son finally came to his sences after many years and sold his 458 Lott that was just sitting in the back row in the safe! Who's gonna have big balls enough to shoot that son-of-a-gun! Nobody here, not more than once, anyway! :p

I just checked Clay's website and he still has one there.
I would'nt mind firing off that .460 a few times, as it won't
hurt as much as the .475 A&M magnum I tried out 20+ yrs. ago!
The Ruger Internationals are sure pretty rifles.
I wonder if a CGN'er has the No.1 in .505 Gibbs that I seen at the
Duncan gun show a few years back?

I just bought a No 1 A light sporter from Clay in 6.5X55. My Bushnell Elite 3200 does not seem to have enough eye relief to work with the stock mounts. Any suggestions on a scope? I don't like the ruger extension mounts (ugly)

Got it last fall in the exchange and I love it, always wanted a Roberts and finally found one.

bought the 458 lott the son of 2 dogs sold me.never handled one until i went to local shop and they are nice rifle.got the ruger in the mail last week and it is very nice handling rifle.might be starting myself a collection as well.will post pic unless 2 dogs wants to me for me.
 
I have these two listed on the EE right now, 7x57 1A and 45-70 1S and I have a K1A 7x57 that I'm keeping. Used it to take a young mule deer last fall.

Not overly long for a 26" barrel. I really like it. I plan on using 200 grain Accubonds. Just a classy rifle in a classy cartridge.

I'm at a loss as to what scope to toss on it. I have a spare Nikon Buckmaster that will work for load development, but I'm thinking of saving for a Leica or S&B. I do like my Conquest though, may just go that route.

Oh and if anyone is looking for a RSI in .30-06 Prophet River has one with spectacular wood, for some reason it's not on their website or EE page though.

That's a nice rifle as is! If you're putting together a show gun rather than an
out in the boonies huntin' rig, then ok. But as a working gun,stick with
what you got and put a matching scope on 'er to finish it off.
Laminate stocks are far better suited to weather and temperature shifts
than solid walnut so they won't warp and change your POI over time.
Besides, it would be a shame to build up a stainless rifle with all the options
you desire, just to find out that it just does'nt look right to ya.:eek:

Look around the net to see if any other guys have done what you're planning
on doing and look'em over. You might come to the same thing I'm thinkin'
Who Knows? Either way, enjoy that puppy cause it's a good'un.:)
