Nice collection there. Do you supply the gang with firearms for the controlled hunt or do you just like to have a different gun for each day of the hunt?

Which action do you prefer?

Thank you for your compliment.

To answer your questions: depending on where I hunt and how I hunt.

The Browning has the best trigger of the bunch and it feels like any other bolt gun I have and it handles exactly like one as well so this is my favorite.

However, either 12 or 20 ga H&R is stupid accurate and no reason not to own one especially the 20ga since it has no kick at all (still heavy barrel weight not much less than its big brother).

I haven't get a chance to try the M2 20ga yet but I am not too optimistic about its accuracy due to the review I found online but its a very light gun perfect to carry around the bush if you are driving deers.

The 935 is the only 3.5" slug gun that I aware of ( Hasting used to make a 3.5" 20ga based on the H&R but not sure if it's ever make it North of the border so I have yet seen one in real life) and I bet you can stop anything on this planet if you shoot the Lightfield commander IDS plus round (600gr @ 1890 FPS with almost 4800 ft lbs ME).

Not bashing Savage owned 210F before but didn't like the rough gritty action and they all hard to eject spent shell (got to yank the bolt handle real hard and fast to eject shells) and would rather spend a bit more for a Browning although Savage are very accurate as well.

I am waiting for an opportunity to try the 220 stainless and wants to see if it has any improvement over the 210 (a buddy of mine has a blued 220 and the finishing its not much better than my previous 210F blueing is still thin metal still lack of polishing and sharp edges everywhere) but the Savage are all fine guns and will put any big game down if we do our part.

I really want to try a Tarhunt out one day but its too rich for my blood perhaps may be one day.................and until then I am happy with my Browning.

I picked up a rifled barrel for my browning gold 3 1/2" a few years ago froom the U.S. and is one of my favorite slug guns to date. I'll need to take pics of the heard i have hear at home. browning 3 1/2" with cantilever rifled barrel with leupold ultimate slam, T/C encore 20g rifled with bushnell 3500, browning 12g a bolt with leupold vx 2, mossberg 500 20g cantilever rifled with burris fullfield II.
sold a couple over the years i wish i would have kept..........

Have you shot any deer with the 3.5" slugs? Those things must have quite the recoil.

I have an H&R ultra light slug 20g and it's also very accurate and at just over 5lbs without scope it's great to carry. Still kicks less than the 12 gauge 870 despite being so light. I debated buying a 220, but decided on a cantilever for the 870 instead as it'll be more useful for drives. I'll posts pics and range report this weekend.

i need a new picture........ scope missing on the a bolt and missing the mossberg 500 completely.......... and need to get rid of the muzzleloaders.........
i'll work on it this weekend.
haven't posted a pic since photobucket went to $hit.....?.

I haven't take any deer with the 935 yet but did shot the 3.5" slugs at the range.

Recoil is not bad its no more than shooting my scoped ZKK602 in 375H&H may be the gas system reduced some felt recoil.

Yes, please show us some pic of the Ultra light hunter.

Do they make deluxe in Ultra light (laminated stock)?

Nice collection you have there we have same taste / style of guns lol.

Can you tell me more about your T/C ?

Is it stainless or marinecoat how's the trigger on it and how's the average group sizes?

the top t/c encore is a pro hunter frame with 20ga 28" stainless barrel with taley 1" med one piece base, mounted a bushnell 3500 3-9×40 last summer after selling a redfield revolution accu-range that was on it. it's been my main slug gun for a few years sharing duty with my 3 1/2" gold. used to have the redfield dialed in and would target practice with it at 200 yards. now with the bushnell using hornady sst's, have it zeroed at 125 yards and can keep it pretty consistent around + or - 3" groups at 125. the 20g barrel is off right now and has a 22-250 barrel on it for the winter. had a 12g barrel for it until i noticed the base screw holes drilled too deep and when putting a base on that barrel you could see obvious humps where the screws were inside the barrel.
never touched the triggers on either encore. i've found them crisp with no creep since new.
haven't tried my a bolt yet, was a x- mas present to myself and just mounted a vx-2 to it last week and it's been too cold..........

Very nice!

Now you just cost me $1k and make the T/C on my own one list lol.

You will be happy with the a bolt I let a buddy use on the second week of the season in 2016 after I filled my tag he dropped a small spike buck (legal size of course) at 225 yards.

He told me he was aiming just above the spine ( told him my setup with the accutip was 3.5" high at 100 so he figures it should drop about foot and a half and he nail it with the first shot).

He thought he missed as the deer ran after he fired but it dropped after 10 yards and boy he was excited and never take a deer that far with a shotgun in his life lol.

nice,
farthest i've ever shot one and the only time i've ever shot a deer that far was a doe at just a little over 194 yds. last i ranged her she was 194 and took a few more steps before she stopped. steady reast with the bottom encore muzzleloader in the pic with another leupy ultimate slam. put the 200yd dot on her but she did run 75 yds after the shot with a broken shoulder before dropping in the field.
live and hunt here in a shotgun/ muzzleloader only area. sometimes wish i could hunt deer with a rifle but our shots aren't usually that far anyway and with slug guns and muzzle loaders as accurate as they are anymore, they seem to do the trick.
and i like options with my firearms.

Good shooting my friend!

Bought my first Muzzleloader last fall (used 700ML 50 cal with 209 conversion) haven't try it out yet but will do when the weather is milder.

I know the smokeless are game changer can reach 300 yards but 194+ with an ordinary ml is very impressive.

I have another set of 1" low Talley lightweight brand new in package for the a bolt let me know if you are interested can sell or swap for anything since I already have a set mounted.

thanks but picked up a set of med 1" talley's from prophet river to mount the vx-2 to the a bolt. really can't wait to try her out....... had wanted one for a few years especially after they discontinued the wood model 3 years ago..... don't know why i never thought of looking at IRG's. one day during our shotgun season i was looking on IRG's site from the treestand for somthing and stumbled on the a bolt shotguns they had new in stock and just had to have one....... took a month and a half and got it in time to put my own gift under the tree. LOL

Yeah the A bolt is really something and I think the only upgrade we both have left will be the Tarhunt after you own the Browning lol.

just a touch out of my price range.......... my wife isn't really that happy when i drop 1000$ on a slug gun that's a back-up to my other back-up to my first back-up....... then add a few hundred on scopes and rings for said multiple back-ups......
LOL
oh, never say never..... maybe when the kids move out......
