What is it with you people? Always complaining about overpriceing.
If you think the prices are to high, don't buy. If you can't afford it, such is life. It doesn't mean either you or the sellers are bad people.
That particular show at the stampede center is extremely expensive to put on. Not to mention a lot of work by a few dedicated individuals.
The vendors of food, pay for the privilege to sell their products exclusively at the premises and they pay a lot. Because of the amount of people eating, it is impossible to provide a restauraunt atmosphere or the same quality of food, therefore they settle for an acceptable alternative.
There are no free rides there or any gun show for that matter.
Those vendors come from all over Canada to sell and trade their wares. Neither travel or accomodations are cheap and must be covered by the sales at the show.
Many of the guns do travel from show to show and are traded between vendors in an almost endless cycle.
Looking for a deal? Make an offer on one of the cyclic guns, even a lowball offer, you might just get it.
Remember, the sellers can always come down in price, but they can't go up.
These shows operate on the barter system, the vendors like haggling and tradeing. Actually most of them would rather trade than sell. Get in there and haggle, enjoy it, the sticker price is very seldom set in ink. Make a lowball offer and settle someplace in between.
Another thing, if you really can't even afford the sticker price for entry and parking, unnegotiable, how can you afford to buy at the show.
If you're there just to look and converse with like minded people, where else are you going to find such an opportunity?
Suck it up and enjoy. Learn from others there and pass on a little of your own knowledge. There's lots of great guns there and we would all like to go home wit one or more or even the accessories but as always, everything is in constant flux, keep up or get left behind.
