Hi, guys. A lot of nice set ups! Newbie here and I was just working on setting up my first reloading center and thought I was pretty creative until I saw a lot of these pics. A newbie question. As I saw a lot of pics of stations in the basements of houses( some with the water heater in the picture) is it not dangerous to reload any where near the furnace or the water heater? I have an auxiliary laundry area near my utilities area tha would make a great reloading area but thought that was a no no. Is there also insurance considerations if you reload in your house versus a garage?

Lots of good looking setups out there. Mine is fairly simple, and the components and goodies are starting to add up now after a little more than a year of reloading. Here is a crappy cell phone picture from a while back. Unfortunately the bottom has turned into a miscellaneous stuff storage area....for now.

Lookin good, still pretty organized though.
Unless your sprinkling gun powder in the burners of either then there isn't much to worry about. Is your furnace hi efficency? If so it likely has intake and exhaust out the side of The house. Combustion is for all intensive purposes completely outside.
Some insurance companies won't insure reloader's. Some want you in a separate building from the house. Some don't care.
When I inquired about reloading in the house and storing powder and primers my insurance company had no answers at all for me. When they finally got back to me I was told they had no policy either way and confirmed I would be covered wether I stored powder and primers in the house or not.
It's best to check with your insurance company yourself, and get the correspondence by mail or email.

I do not have much room in my condo so for my gun cleaning/reloading/work bench I recycled a heavy steel cabinet and bolted two laminated layers of MDF (glued and nailed together) on top of it. I painted the MDF with many coats and varnished it. The ends of the MDF are supported by two "L" brackets on each end.
Features include carpet lined, internal LED lighting in the top 2 sections, flexible spot lighting from Ikea, 3 custom locking points to prevent easy access and "blow" vents in the back.
It's heavy and steady. Being a high benchtop (43.5"), it works well standing or with a stool.

It's a cheap Mastercraft vise I've had since ~2003 from Canadian Tire. I like it because it has an anvil on it. I would also suggest rubber pads for the vise!

I just built it yesterday in a couple hours. Haven't set up my press or other things, just got everything stacked on it. I will organize it all today and maybe post another picture. The cats just love having a new place to play and some empty boxes to lay in . I have to go find a stool to work at, does anyone know a place to get a comfy stool with a back for a good price?

Too bad they wouldn't work with different sized containers though. I guess you win some and lose some. Aliant powders use small tall tubes, maybe they would fit horizontal and stacked two high?
