Showoff your SHORTY 12G SHOTTY (14" or under and Mods)!

I've shot it with 2 3/4 in slugs and it seemed fine to me, felt more like a big push rather than a sharp kick. To be honest I think the m44 mosin a friendly guy at the range let me try hurt more. Both have hard buttplates. Regardless I am now considering tossing a rubber butt pad on it, I just think it looks better without :p

How did you get the old bead off? What wrench or tool did you use, without marring the parkerizing???

Just used a small crescent wrench. But held it straight up instead of lateral. I also didn't let the wrench touch the barrel.
The first few rotations were tight on mine, then the last 3 turns were easier. No locktite was present that I could see. I didn't use any either, as the last few turns putting the new bead on were rather tight IMO.

Didn't work for me, bead is ripped off of base, scratches abound and not much left of the base for any hold to unscrew out of the barrel. Guess mine had loctite... Oh well, I'll beat the sh!t out of this thing anyway, the way it's meant to be treated.

So what should I crazy glue on there as it seems to be my only option f:P:

Mine also had some type of locktite on it. I heated it up from below and used some vice grips to get it off.

I have a 12.5 and 14 plated dlask, I was hoping factory Remington for the 14 but it just hasn't worked out.

I had these plated by a friend who works at an industrial shop that does commercial work. He just made it one of his lunch hour projects, basically the cost to plate was nil.

Awesome, thanks. Your friend wouldn't want to open a side business by any chance, would he? ;)

I just got a 12.5" Dlask barrel in the mail today. Here it is on my 870 Express along with an old police stock and an S&J front sling mount (as a hand guard). Eventually, I plan to add a detachable shotshell carrier but that will be it.
