Showoff your SHORTY 12G SHOTTY (14" or under and Mods)!

I just swapped a Malkoff device in for the Surefire light, 300 lumens sure beats 60 lumens.

I also put a UTG sidesaddle on it. It works well but it makes the balance left side heavy. I'll try it for a while and see.

Ok, just for giggles.

Nothing says "tactical" like a wood furniture, single shot break action with a 14" bbl.

With a pic rail and a red dot.

Why?

Because F-U, that's why.

Makes sense with that adapter grelmar.
Have you had a chance to try it out? Is that rail made for ribs or did you customize it?

Good eye on the adapter... It's actually the reason I set the rig up. I have a 7" ShortLane rifled adapter, and I also have a 4" rifled choke for that gun for slugs.

There's very little I can find on decent testing on rifled shotgun adapters. Most people put them in, wing shoot a bit with the bead sight, and then comment on the accuracy/lack of accuracy. The Vortex Sparc was wasting away on my 10/22 (I just have better .22s, so the ruger sits in the safe doing nothing), so I ordered in the vent rib to rail adapter.

It's a "Sun Optics" vent rib to rail adapter (cheap Chinese), and to get it to mount right without modding the gun itself involved some quality time with an angle grinder, Dremel, buffing wheel, and then some BBQ paint to get it back to matte black. The end result is a solid tight fit that should hold up, though.

Just put it together yesterday afternoon, will hopefully get a range trip in with it in the next couple of weeks. The .22 adapter testing should be fun, but my shoulder is already twinging from the mere thought of bench shooting HV slugs from a shotgun that weighs less than 5 pounds. I'll need to take some padding with me that day.

I didn't realize anyone made rib/rail adapters. Looks like it will work well for your use and if you really like it you could even add some sort of adhesive to make it permanent. A raised bead of some sort up front so you can still use it over the rail without an optic would be good.
As long as you have consistent orientation of the adapter it should shoot well..... I look forward to your report.

Valtro: Italian for 13.5" barrel and 7 rounds of fun per mag!

I'm trying to figure out how to fit an adjustable stock... Not sure what adapter would be closest fit to the Valtro.

People have successfully adapted the Remington 870 top-folder stock, or so I'm told.

With a 13.5" barrel a Remington top folder (I love those top folders) would probably make the Valtro Restricted.

IIRC a 16" barrel is the shortest you can go to and still be non Restricted with a remington top folder.
