Showoff your SHORTY 12G SHOTTY (14" or under and Mods)!

Well...if it works. But, my God, is that fugly!
Function over beauty; plus this is a prototype and a powdercoat is still in order - time and money.

Nice job... I just don't understand why?
To answer your question:
1. Provide adjustable length of pull - within minimum legal length.
2. Quicker disassembly/reassembly (smaller storage foot-print).
3. Reduction in total firearm mass (it is a "Backpacker" after all).
4. Fun.
5. Because I can and have the means.

Is it just me or are these short barreled shotguns flamethrowers with slugs? Mine weren't anything special and it was pretty dramatic. Put a smile on my face :d

I was using Winchester 2 3/4, 1600 fps slugs. The flash and sound surprised me at first. Fun stuff.

Didn't like the massive front site post on the barrel I got from can ammo (great deal by the way, $79) so I cut it off, and keeping with the el cheapo theme I made my own bead site.

Looks great! Nice work on the front sight. The 12.5" "woody" look is really catching on here!

Yup, I'd agree. I bought a Express combo with wood for the sole purpose of converting it to a SBS. Like a lot of other members, I opted for the cheap 12.5" Grizzly barrel. Naturally, it looks the same as others posted here.

I've been carrying these, don't know how well they work because luckily, I've never had to use them. They are pretty accurate and fly nice and flat out of my 20" barrel.

Yeah nice magnum round.

I stick to 2 3/4 as I can get 5 in the tube.

Load up in the truck, go for a walk then manually unload at the truck (Without cycling the bolt) pop them back in the box and hide.

Maybe I should fire the box off next time, no idea the effect on the shells cycling them in and out, in and out etc.

Another SHORTY 12Ga work in progress

This Wingmaster has been in my family almost 40 years (and it was purchased used). I have never liked the fleur-de-lis stock and forend and I am a fan of short barrels (as you may have guessed given the thread I am posting in) so I have decided to give it a minor makeover. I have a new set of walnut Remington Police furniture on the way and have tracked down a new 14" Police Wingmaster blued barrel with bead sight.

Here is the Wingmaster in its original configuration with 21" and 28" barrels:

Here it is with the 14" Police barrel (I will replace this picture when the Police furniture and WM barrel arrive):
