Big JD-From the hills said:I would say buy the sig 220 in 9mm unless you want to compete with it. BTW what mag relese does it have? Your right about how you can always buy a sig 226 later on down the road. Just don't get ripped off, These things were selling for 500-600 in stores a wile back.
DE44 said:Interesting comment about the 226 having a 10 round mag. I just got my 226 9mm recently and am waiting to get my long term att so I can get out and shoot it. I know it is suppose to have a 10 round mag but I'll be damned if I can get more than 9 in each mag it came with. Am I doing something wrong? I'm not a weakling but this is my first handgun so I have to ask the question. Neither mag seems to be able to take a 10th round. I have tried on a few occasions now and had the same result... 9 rounds only.
Help
Colin said:Go for the 226, the mags are cheaper and easier to find. the 220 grip is slimmer, but a bit longer, it does allow you to get a good grip.
If you get a 226 in .40cal, then you can buy a 9mm barrel for it ($200) and have a 3 calibre gun.
Also consider the 226ST, a very nice gun
