Bought my first 226 a few months ago...a P226 Elite Dark in 9mm. After numerous visits to the range with this pistol, I wondered why I ever waited so long to buy one! I have since purchased another 226...a TacOps in 40S&W, and I can't get enough of that one either. I don't think that I'm done with SIG yet. There are still a few more models that I would like to try, and I know that once I've done so, I'll probably end up owning them as well.

Thanks, only cost $16 bucks for a soldering iron at Canadian tire and less than 30 minutes of my time. Highly recommend it. Might even do my Glock 21.
When you test one out remeber what trigger it has, theres the standard and short reach. If you have long fingers id reccomend the standard. Mine came with a short reach, i have long fingers and its shootable but im in the market for the standard reach trigger. Great guns!
SAS, Canada and US SOF seem to think its ok
The olny combat pistols I would trust my life too are SIG, Glock and CZ
The only SIG issue was a bad batch of take down levers
You could add a ton of other Mil and LEO units to this list. Go to Wikipedia and check out who carries/has carried the P226.
I fired thousands of rounds through the SIG P226s I carried. I own and have own numerous SIGs, different models and calibers (9mm and ,45ACP). and still love the P226. In my mind, there is not a better pistol.

My first pistol was a P226. I fell in love with the design and ergos and then started to lust for the "ultimate" P226; the X-Five ancestor. It was a long wait but John from Wolverine managed to get SIG Eckernförde mastershop to craft me one, well worth the wait! Behold, the P226 Sportstock!

Looks like my X-Five allround except regular lenght barrel.
Really like the extended slide release
First handgun I bought and I love it. Huge grin on my face the first time I shot it. I do have an issue with the slide not locking back but I can almost guarantee its my grip (which will be fixed next time I can get out to the range). The DA/SA does take some getting used to and it has a long reset (unless you upgrade to the SRT of course) when compared with other handguns. This thread makes me want to head to the range right now.

Seriously. This is a great pistol. Will eat any ammo. Super accurate, super reliable. Nothing else matter. Definitely my go to war pistol.
This one has the SRT trigger. Extra clean from factory. Very nice and short reset. Everybody who tried it including me really appreciate the upgrade from the original P226 trigger offered on other models.
Oh yea... This one is US made. No complains at all. 5" threaded barrel.
