I'm not sure how this thread has been copied from the original posting elsewhere on CGN, but I'm glad it has.
As the only authorized and approved importer of Sig Sauer product, we are solely responsible for the import of the MPX. No one else is able to start this process.
To obtain an FRT for this firearm, we have to import two: one select fire, and one semi-auto. These rifles have to be paid for and imported by us, then sent to the RCMP Tech lab for 12-36 months.
As a side note, for all of those individuals that believe they are 'getting screwed' by the Canadian firearms industry, keep in mind what goes into the importation and distribution of the firearms we all enjoy.

Most likely.
Possibly; we are in discussion with Lancer (the mag producer) to alter the current production process, and change the mold to mark the mags "10 rd for pistol only". This is a complicated process, as they will have a minimum order requirement, and Canada is the only market for the finished product.
This would be a great win, as you will all have the chance to purchase one if we get a for sure on the restricted status.
The Fire Control Group is very AR inspired, as is the takedowm of the upper and lower.
