SIG Cross "WOODY"

I like every one of those changes! Looks terrific; the accented grain pattern is beautiful.

Now, just one more hopefully-constructive comment: If you do another of these, I would suggest having the rear edge of the fore-end piece wrap down slightly, like a sort of reversed-schnabel, so that the wood extends down to the front edge of the magazine well and covers that little "bridge" of metal frame that is exposed now. I know, this sounds like a customer telling a barber that he wants it a little longer in front :) and would require a new piece to be made.

I'm only making this suggestion based upon my recent addition of the Sig-made plastic handguard cover to my Cross. This plastic piece makes the gun more comfortable to use and carry in the cold. It still allows a bit of contact between the carry hand and the metal receiver just behind the handguard, but it extends down to the magazine well and when utilized together with a plastic magazine like a Magpul it definitely keeps the hand warmer.

OK, so few more modifications are made. I sanded all the finish down, made a handguard a bit slimmer, significantly reduced the palm rest on the pistol grip, and made a cheek rest out of the same material.. Then i use "shousugibon" method on the finish to bring up tne grain lines.. in orher words torched the wood slightly :) . After that everything got stained and laquered again and it looks really nice.

Absolutely EXCELLENT job D!!!
I might need to send ya a text some time soon again man LOL!!!

Love it.

Are you able to sight in the iron sights? Never thought of putting a pic rail on top to run irons - neat idea!

Yes, once you install the top rail section at the front, sights line up perfectly. Mine are sighted in at 30-50 yards. Transition from scope to 45 degree sights is lightning fast.

Nice work, gives me wood
'specially if it needed a butt pad spacer of the same material

When folded or unfolded, is there a comfortable balanced carry grip area?
